CHAPTER FOURTEEN
“What about us?” the frogs in the box protested. “We’re hungry, too!”
Tegan helped me down and dropped his attention to Toby. “Could you and your siblings hunt for food on your own tonight? The owner of this inn is a woman.”
Toby nodded. “Alright. We’ll meet back here in an hour.”
The frog hopped off my shoulder while Tegan grabbed the box and set it on the ground. My husband opened the lid and revealed the empty interior. He closed the lid and reopened it, showing the gaggle of fuming frogs. They eagerly hopped out of the box.
“It’s so stuffy in there!” one of them whined.
“And so dark!” another piped up.
“Quit complaining and start looking for some food,” Toby ordered them.
