Chapter 3: A Good Night Kiss

After some time I entered the dining area

everyone had already settled and was waiting for me.

the moment I was about to sit the very next chair was pulled and I saw him sitting beside me.

I just felt dejected, this night seems too long to end I thought to my self.

But apparently, the dinner was quick and everyone gathered in the living room for some sweets

I was sitting in the corner single couch with my sweet and listening to everyone chattering around smiling. I am not much of a talkative person until I am too comfortable with them. and mostly in family get-togethers, I m the quite one. the observing one you can say.

Just as I was lost in my thoughts I felt a pair of eyes staring at me and burning my skin.

just as I scanned the room he was sitting right across me. as if he was trying to figure something out or want to know some mystery behind me. His eyes travelling on my body and stopped as my eyes were staring at him uncomfortably.

He then shifted his gaze and walked up to greet everyone and left.

I didn't know what happened did I made him leave because I was staring at him. but he was the one doing it, isn't it?

there was this bitter feeling all of sudden in my heart.

after a while, we all went to sleep.

And I was having a hard time to sleep, was just rolling in my bed and suddenly there was a whisper " Are you awake"

I turned around to see my niece looking at me and smiling. I m a light sleeper so with little moments I m awake.

"yes.. is something wrong why are you still awake?"

I turned to look at the clock and it was half-past 3 in the morning.

I turned to her and asked " what's wrong why are you awake"

She said " Nothing "

I said "okay" and was about to turn and sleep

She said " Give me a Good night Kiss on Cheeks "

I stared at her blankly, is she drunk at this hour?

I asked her " are you fine? what's wrong?"

she said "just give"

I thought she really acting bit weird so I just gave her kiss and turned and was trying to sleep.

And I hear a Giggle from her.

I turned and faced her and asked "what's going on? tell me the truth"

She just pointed at the balcony and asked me to look

I was confused? what was there at this hour at the night.

I hesitatingly got up from my bed and went towards balcony

I saw nothing down and I turned to my niece giving her glare like "What is it"

And as I turned back I saw a familiar figure standing in a dark shadow near a lamppost

I tried to look more carefully and that figure walk in the light

and I am startled to look at the person who was standing there.
