CHAPTER 2

She felt his lips on her bare shoulder. A shiver ran through her. She could feel his lips trail from her shoulder to her neck. Her heart started beating so fast, she thought it would burst. He turned her around and lifted her chin with his right forefinger and locked his eyes with hers. "I've always wanted you from the moment I laid my eyes on you, Mia", he spoke huskily. She saw him looking at her lips and started leaning in. She found herself leaning in. When their lips touched, she knew she would feel the sparks, she knew that her left leg would pop up like Mia Thermopolis's from The Princess Diaries.  But it didn't happen. Instead, she felt uneasy. Jake's hands slid over her butt and squeezed it which made her gasp. He seized that opportunity to enter her mouth and grazed her teeth. She felt uncomfortable and absolutely disgusted. She tried to break free from his hold. But she couldn't budge. He pinned her against the wall. She couldn't take it anymore when his hand slid up her thigh and went higher and higher. She pushed him away from her with all the force she could. He fell on the ground, she sprinted for the door. Jake held on to her right leg and pulled her down. He managed to climb on top of her before she had the chance to get up. "You think you can get away from me now, Mia?" he purred. She felt sickened by the way he said her name. "Let me go Jake", she begged. She felt her cheeks get wet and realized that she was crying. "Oh no not yet, not until I've had you", he told her with a wicked smile.  She noticed that his eyes were of a darker shade. It showed huger. And lust. She didn't want him. She had to run away from him. She had to think fast. She kicked him where the sun doesn't shine and sped towards the door. The door opened after two tries and she got out quickly and locked it from outside. She could hear Jake groaning, but she ignored him. She raced towards the main door and ran out of Jake's place. She didn't bother looking for Nicki and Aaron. She decided to walk towards the park near Jake's house to clear her mind.  She couldn't believe it. She trusted Jake. She thought he was a genuine person. It hurt to know that he acted like a gentleman just to get into her pants and not to be in a relationship. She felt so hurt and betrayed. She wanted to talk to someone. She wanted to talk to Nicki but decided against it. As she sat on the swing in the park and contemplated about how Jake can turn out to be such an ass, she heard a familiar female shriek. "Help me!" "Somebody help me!" Mia didn't hear anything after that. She looked towards her right from where she thought she heard the noise emanated. There was a dark lane on her right with just one street light which kept flickering. She followed her instincts and walked in the direction of the street light. There was a side road right next to the street light. The light from the street light kind of illuminated the road although she couldn't see much. There she saw a jacket crumpled on the floor.  She picked it up and straightened it. She suddenly lost her footing and fell down due to shock. In an instant, she remembered all the small details she forgot to notice. All of a sudden her mind flooded with images. The jacket was Raven's. She had opened the gate to sneak away with her motorcycle boyfriend. It was her voice that Mia heard moments ago. She walked forward with caution. At the end of the side road, she saw a motorcycle and a guy in helmet lying unconscious and bleeding as though a vehicle hit his motorcycle and someone gave him a good beating. She looked closer and recognized the motorcycle. It was the same one which belonged to Raven's boyfriend. She had bragged to Mia how his parents gifted him a Kawasaki Kz1000 for his birthday and that it was an expensive one.  She realized that Raven could still be somewhere near as the blood on the ground looked fresh. It was slightly windy, and Mia was shivering. She doubted if it was because of the wind or her own fear. She started overthinking. She heard noises that sounded like a car starting, from her left. She sprinted into darkness. She could see the headlights of a van. To her horror she saw Raven there, her arms tied behind, and white tape on her mouth. Raven was crying, pleading them to leave her. Several men were trying to push her inside the van.  Raven saw movement in front of the van. She met Mia's eyes. All she could see was worry and dread in those brown eyes of hers.
