ABDUCTED

VOL 1 : CHAPTER 1

A 25-year-old girl had gone missing in Vetah during the early hours last Friday. The kin of the disappeared woman stated that she had gone out that morning to buy grocery but never returned. The police officers are still trying to trace the woman who vanished into thin air. 

Mia's dad turned off the Tv and murmured to himself," This is just monstrous."

He turned towards Mia and her sister Raven who was perched on the sofa munching on their remaining granola bars."I want both of you to be inside the house by 6 p.m.and you shall not step out alone even if it is an emergency. Do you hear me?" he lectured them.

Raven and Mia nodded and went upstairs to their rooms. Mia decided to complete her homework. Her phone buzzed when she was almost done with her homework.

It was Nicki, her friend from school.

You should totally come to Jake's party tonight. He asked Aaron if you were coming!!

She smiled at that.

Nicki was also a new student when Mia met her on her first day of middle school. They got along pretty well since both of them were new to the place and have been friends since then.

Nicki was also more popular than Mia in her high school. She had the looks. Blue-eyed and blonde, she was the epitome of a perfect woman in every boy's eye in their school. Unfortunately for them, her eyes were only for the school's quarterback's Aaron. They have been in a relationship since then.

Aaron had introduced her to Jake at an after-party at a football tournament about a year ago and, she has been crushing on him forever.

Her heart thumps loudly.

She starts sweating like a pig. 

Her legs go jelly whenever they meet. 

He was such a pleasant guy, always a true gentleman to her.

All of a sudden she remembered her father's words from the evening. But she wanted to go to Jake's party desperately. It had been a month since she last saw him. After an hour of contemplation, she decided to go. She would sneak out and carry a can of pepper spray just for caution. 

She got herself dolled up. She chose to wear a maroon halter neck dress that ends just above her knees with a pair of black boots and subtle makeup. She thought she'd ask her sister for her bedazzled black leather jacket but decided against it. 

She walked downstairs noiselessly and clambered out of the door quickly and jumped over the high wall that separated their house from the road. As she landed on the ground perfectly, she spotted a familiar-looking person closing their gate and getting inside a black sedan. She shook her head thinking that she mistook the person for someone else and started walking in the opposite direction towards Jake's house. It was a 15 minutes walk from her place, and she didn't have a car yet. Her dad promised that he would get her one after high school which was 9 months away. 

As she got closer to Jake's house, she could hear the sound of the heavy metal music playing inside and, she could see several cars lined up on the street in front of his house.

She didn't reach the door and, yet the smell of booze was already suffocating her. She knocked twice and, a girl with ombre hair opened the door. Mia walked past her and started searching for Nicki and Jake. She started feeling nauseous after passing through the sweaty bodies and drinking buddies. Some of them were even making out on the stairs. 

As she reached the kitchen, she saw Aaron and Nicki playing beer Jenga along with a few others. Mia waved at her but, Nicki was engrossed in the game. Finally, she walked towards them passing a guy who was throwing up in a vase. She scrunched her eyebrows and held her breath disgusted by this. 

When Mia reached the play area, Nicki saw her and pulled her for a hug. "I'm so glad that you could make it. I'm sure you're just here for Jake.", she said wiggling her eyebrows as she let go of Mia. "Common let's go look for Jake.", Nicki said before Mia could reply to her earlier comment.

They spotted a wasted Jake on the dance floor. He saw Nicki and Mia approach him and, walked towards them. He grabbed Mia's hand and took her to the bar on the other side of the room. She only had a moment to look behind at Nicki and wave bye. 

They took seats facing each other when they reached the bar. Jake was looking at her with a weird look in his eyes. 

All of a sudden he touched her cheek with his forefinger. 

"You look so beautiful tonight, Mia", he slurred. 

That sent shivers down her spine.

"Common, let me give you a tour of my house", he said as got down from his barstool and bowed down like a butler. Mia giggled at that.

 Taking her response as an affirmative yes, he grabbed her hand for the second time tonight and, took her upstairs. He took her to the library, and she was mesmerized by the number of books the room was filled with.

Mia felt extremely overwhelmed after looking at the number of books the high shelves were filled with, and it gave her a warm feeling as she walked past them. Her fingers brushed against the thick binds of the books as she walked. 

They left the library, and Jake decided to take her to his room. On their way to his room, Mia could hear moans and other sounds that she wished she didn't hear coming from the other rooms.

Jake stopped in front of a fibreglass door and said: "This is my room." He opened the door for Mia, and as they went inside, he shut the door and locked it. 

Mia missed the sound of the lock as she was busy admiring his room. 

There was a guitar in one corner. The walls were blue and white and gave a warm feeling. 

Suddenly she felt Jakes's arms on her waist, and his head was resting on her shoulder. Her breath hitched.
