My thoughts were jumping around with what if's. I want to fit in and not be an outcast, well not for long. I know for a while I probably will be. I mean come on, new people in a new town sometimes get looked at weird and like they aren’t wanted.
The first and only place I stayed at, other than the cabin, within the four years of being on my own I was constantly looked at and I hated it. It was a town motel. The questioning looks, and judgment. Some were looks of disgust and one was a look of lust from an older man, at that time I decided to just stay outdoors and go into town if I absolutely needed to. Let's hope this place is different. Just because a few people have been nice doesn't mean everything will be fine.
"May I come in?" a small voice asked, breaking me out of my thoughts.
I turn my head to look at the voice and see a little boy. The same little boy that was in the room when I woke up. Now that I look at him, he looks dirty and his clothes look old and rated up. This poor kid looks as if he was thrown out of his house!
"Yeah you can come in." I said, giving him a smile.
The boy smiled and sat down on the floor. I gave him a questioning look as to why he was sitting on the floor. "I can't sit on the chair. He will be mad if I-I do.”
Who? Why wouldn't he let this kid sit in a damn chair? Better not be Jason or I'll beat the crap outta him.
"Well did he say anything about sitting on my bed?" I asked, giving the boy a mischievous smile. His face lit up. Well from what I could see anyway.
After he got settled on the bed next to my legs it was silent. So I decided to ask him some questions.
"What's your name bud?" he shook his head.
"It's not bud. My name is Tyler." He's just so cute!
"I'm Kelly. It's nice to meet you Ty." he rolled his eyes and shook his head again.
"Ty-ler!" he sounded it out slowly for me. This kid must think I’m stupid. Clearly he doesn't know what a nickname is. I started to laugh.
"Ty is a nickname just like bud or little man." I explained while still laughing. Tyler's mouth made an 'o' shape and then he started to laugh along.
I learned that he was eight and his family didn't even want him. They used him as a servant and nothing more than that. Like he was trash for them to do whatever they wanted with. He told me that he has been here on this land for a year but no one pays any attention to him and the 'he' Tyler was talking about was some doctor. My heart literally broke for my little buddy.
He asked me why I was here and I told him what I told Jason. Then an idea popped into my head. "How would you feel if I became your big sister? And you be my little brother? I won't let anything bad happen to you." I promised him. Ty nodded his little head and came over to give me a big hug.
"Can I s-stay with y-you tonight?" Tyler's little voice stuttered. I could tell he was crying and it pissed me off how people that are supposed to love and care for you just treat you like dirt. I hate that people like this exist in this world. One day they will get what's coming to them.
I tightened my hold on him only a little and said "You'll never have to leave Tyler. I'm not letting you go." I held Tyler in my arms letting him cry for a half hour before he fell asleep. His poor little boy. Just what have you been through? Covering him up I soon fell asleep too.
. . . . .
BAM!
I jolted up in the hospital bed.
What the hell was that?
I scanned the room and saw the door wide open with Jason looking at me holding Tyler against my chest.
"Who is that?"
"Tyler. My brother, why?" I asked suspiciously.
Jason looked at Ty then back at me. "He's not really my brother but he is, I'll explain later. Now are you gonna tell me why the hell my door is open and why was there a loud noise?" I was getting a little annoyed.
Jason cleared his throat before closing the door. "I thought I saw something but never mind. I was on my way here to come tell you the room is done. Umm, are you two ready?" I nodded.
"Ummm do you maybe have anything I could change into?"
"Oh ya sorry I forgot, let me go get the clothes." He left and was back three minutes later with a bag. I set Tyler back down on the bed and to my surprise he was still asleep. Poor kid, he probably hasn’t had a good night of sleep in a long time. I walked into the bathroom and took the clothes out of the bag.
Ugh! Pink. The shirt was pink, the shoes were hot pink and they were high tops, so they weren't that bad. And the shorts look way too short for my liking but at least they are black. Oh no. I don’t have an extra bra or panties. Whatever, I'll just have to wear my old bra for now. I’m not too scared about underwear cuz I walk in just sweats and a sports bra all the time.
I changed and gave myself a look over. The shorts are really short but not that bad. And the shoes look good on me. I still hate the shirt. It was a v-neck and showed too much cleavage for my liking.
I walk out of the bathroom and see Jason looking at Tyler intently. Like he wants to rip the kid to shreds. I hit the back of his head and picked Ty up. Being careful not to wake him I turn and look up at Jason who was rubbing the back of his gorgeous head.
Good that shows him glaring at my brother. "Follow me." he grumbled as he turned on his heels. We walked out of the hospital and all I saw were trees all over. I kinda like it. It was calming considering that's all I've been around for a while.
"So we have some rules for you." Jason said as we fell into step next to each other.
"Ok like what?" I whispered. I really don't want to wake Ty up. I don't know when the last time it was that he slept. Hell I don't even know when he ate last.
"Rule one, you will be staying with me. Rule two.." I cut him off there. "No I'm not. There is no way I'm staying with you. I don’t even know you." I mean I get I’m hot but ask a girl out a few times!
Jason rolled his eyes. "Kel you will be staying at my place not my room you idiot."
I blushed a little. "Oh umm continue." Well that was embarrassing. I thought to myself mentally slapping my face.
"Rule two, I don't want you or him out past midnight. Three keep an eye on him, this place can be dangerous at night. Four when you feel better I want you to start training. Five we have to introduce you to the pack and six you listen to me, Mike and Max." he gave me a look that said ‘No exceptions’ then continued "Other than that I don't have any other rules. If you need anything, come ask me and I will do what I can."
"I'm cool with it as long as I get to meet Max and Mike so I know what they're like. Also Tyler needs to train too. I want him to be strong and be able to stand up for himself. And don't think I don't see the way you look at him. Stop glaring at him or I'll kick your ass." and that was all we said to each other.
The walk didn't take that long. Maybe about 2 miles. His house was huge. Four stories including a basement that had a pool, workout room, bathroom, rooms, and a kitchen. "You can pick where you want to stay for tonight but tomorrow I will show you the room you will be in permanently. The same for your brother." Jason continued talking as he opened the door.
Everything in this house was nice. The first thing you see when you walk in is a mud room. So I take mine and Tyler's shoes off and wake him up so he can see the house also. "What's wrong, kewy? Everything ok?" Hmm this kid is just the cutest!
"Yes everything is fine. I just want you to see this house. Come on, let's look around."
We looked around the second floor just for tonight cuz it was already two in the morning. I could tell Tyler was about to fall to the ground from being tired so I picked a room with a bunk bed and put him on the top bunk.
"Good night Ty. Sleep tight little guy. I'll see you in the morning." I said as I tucked him in. Soon the lights were off and I was fast asleep on the bottom bed.
