Episode 1
He smiles and kisses my forehead. I chuckle in my sleep and snuggle into his arms. He holds me tightly and chuckles too.
"Sleeping beauty," he says, smiling. I can feel that he's still smiling.
I readjust and bury my head in his chest.
"I have bad breath," I whisper, so he wouldn't notice it.
"I don't care," he says, forcefully raising my head and kisses me on my lips.
I look at him, a bit angry, and almost scream, "Babe!"
He laughs and kisses my forehead. "Did you sleep well, my queen?" he asks.
"Yes, my king," I answer, smiling. This man always makes me so happy that I don’t even realize I’m smiling most of the time when I’m with him. We barely argue, and even when we do, he’s ready to listen and always apologize.
"My cheeks hurt. I just woke up, and you're making me smile so much," I complain, still smiling.
"That's my goal in life, babe," he pauses. "To always make you smile."
"Oh yeah... but..." I stop speaking because his phone is ringing.
He reflexively turns away from me to the other side of the bed where the bedside drawer is, with his phone on it. "I have to take that, babe," he gently lifts me up from his chest and moves to pick up his phone.
"Hi, good morning," he says, gently scratching his eyes.
I get up from the bed, adjust my nightgown, and head to the kitchen to maybe munch on something. If there's anything I'm grateful for, it's the fact that we never leave the dishes until the next morning. Even when I return to my place and I'm not with him, he always does the dishes. As a matter of fact, my man is so neat, I'm impressed, and I love it about him.
I open the upper fridge, look into it, and find nothing enticing. To be honest, I don't know why I opened it because the lower fridge is the one with the "goodies." In the storage door, there are packets of McVities shortbread, dark cream, and digestive. I'll pick McVities shortbread anytime, any day, so that is what I go for.
I bend down to bring out a bottle of cold water and close the fridge. I feel my man's hands around my waist. He breathes on my neck as if to take in my scent and kisses my neck.
I chuckle and smile. "Who called you?" I turn to face him and walk away from him. I drop the bottled water and biscuits on the counter and face him.
He follows me and smiles. "Why are you asking?" He bites his lips and looks at me in a seductive manner. He's bare-chested. I stare at his chest and then at him. This man knows his way around me; he knows what he’s doing. I know what he’s trying to do. I don’t know how to avoid it, and I won’t even bother trying to.
"Just wanted to know," I pause, "harmless question."
He pulls me close to himself and holds my waist. "Okay. Posi called to inform me about a music video I was booked to direct." he says, staring into my eyes. Posi is his best friend and also like his assistant or something close to it.
I put my hands around his neck. "Okay. When?" I ask.
"26th of this month," he replies, bringing his lips down to meet mine. He kisses me again and pauses to look at me, then kisses me again.
I giggle while we're kissing. "Why did you pause to look at me?"
He doesn't say a word but smiles slyly, lifts me onto the kitchen counter.
"Hm. What do you want from me, Alexis?" I ask, smiling curiously.
He smiles. "Nothing," he pauses, "Oh yeah, I want something. I don't want you to go to work today," he confesses, staring at my chest.
"Oga, you know that's not possible. I have a delivery to make by 11:30 am," I say, rubbing his occiput with my hands.
"Magic hands," he says quietly. He rests his head on my chest.
I chortle. "You behave like a baby, babe."
"Yes, 'cause I'm your baby," he pauses. "When will you be back?"
"Ermmm," I ponder a little about whether I'll be returning to his place or going back to my own place. I've been at his place for about four days, and I left my sister all alone at home, and I'm not really comfortable about that.
"Babe," I call, trying to prepare him for the bad news. "I'll have to go home to stay with Lily. It'sbeen a while."
He takes his head away from my chest and moves back. "So when are you coming back?" He just wants to know when I’ll be coming back.
"Maybe during the weekend," I say with my eyes closed because honestly I’m not prepared to see his reaction.
He walks away from me to the fridge, he opens it as if he’s looking for something, but I know he’s not. He just wants to stay away from me.
"I’m jealous of Lily. You spend more time with her than with me, the love of your life," he complains.
I jump down from the counter and walk to where he’s standing. I go to the other side of the fridge where he can see me.
"Okay, but we can make wise use of our time." I smile wryly.
He smiles and closes the fridge. "Forget it," he says, and I jump on him. I place my arms around his neck and wrap my legs around his waist. He chortles and spins us around. "My baby," he calls with emphasis on the "y."
"My husband," I say, mimicking him.
He carries me into the bedroom and gently drops me on the bed. He lays above me and kisses my forehead, the top of my forehead, and my neck. I chuckle because the kiss on my neck is tickling.
"We need to prepare breakfast, babe," I say, still chuckling.
"You are my food," he replies, laughing gently.
