The rings of the Forbidden land

As the moon rises above the horizon, Kiera stares into the woods, with only a little light reflecting in her grey eyes as the dark forest of Ashgar awakes. The last few months, Kiera has been running for her life, living in the corners of every town she passes through and haggling for survival. Although every inch of her body trembles as soon as the night sky sets in with heightened senses to where they might be, she has managed to get hold of one of the four rings that will reveal the ancient tomb which holds the one and only artifact that can restore the peace between the (light and dark). Although the search is still a long way to go, Kiera has promised Kayden, the King of Lemuria, she will not give up hope and that she will find the artifact and restore the peace. She will be back to be married to the King and regain control of The Forbidden Lands where they will build their empire together and reunite the people.   With all these thoughts sourcing through her mind, she got distracted by distant footsteps. With immediate response, Kiera managed to hide herself. It took her a lot of practice to finally gain control of her magic. Some of the easier things she manages pretty well, but every now and then something goes wrong, whether it’s a mixed-up spell, or just simply not enough concentration, like the time in the small settlement east of the Drakoon hills, when she wanted to get some fruits from one of the vendors but ended up turning a banana into a snake. How she wished she could have someone to share the humor of the vendors face when the banana he just had in his hand is now alive and hissing. Although she couldn’t see anyone approaching, Kiera kept hiding. She knew that it must be one of the creatures of the dark lurking. After all, when the sun sets, the scariest of creatures rise and walk amongst the rest. Ashgar has always been her home, when the Queen, Kiera’s mother, passed away due to dark magic, The Forbidden Lands was split up into four divisions, namely, Ashgar, Lemuria, Meropis and Thule where each part of the forest has its own magic ring, the quest Kiera is on. She has found the first ring, the ring of Lemuria, which revealed the location of the second ring, the ring of Ashgar.   Sneaking around the boulders, Kiera found a cave in which she takes cover for the night. As she closes her eyes and drifts off to slumber, her dreams start to take over again….   “Mom! Mom!” Kiera screams as her mom is slowly disintegrating before her eyes. With tears running down her shut eyes, she feels the softness and warmth of her mother's lips on her cheek and the Queen whispers in her ear: “It will be alright Kiera. Find the rings, restore the peace. I love you.”
