Kealan just chose to nod, at the man’s explanation even though, she still puzzled about him being around the whole time she had been inside the house, because her stomach keeps on grumbling and she can’t help but to get embarrassed, because she is sure that, the man can hear her stomach sentiment. “Uhm…” “Mister sorry but, can I go first,” she asked embarrassingly, because her stomach just wont stop its grumbling sound, “I need to buy food, you see…” The man, chuckle as he look at her, making her scratch her temple because of too much embarrassment that is happening to her. “It’s okay, you can go.” The man said with a smile. “Thanks.” She replied. Kealan disappeared infront of the man in such a hurry, but halted when she was about to open the main door, to look back, and suddenly feel guilty leaving the man behind. She stayed at the main door, contemplating if she would asked the man to come with her or not. In the end she found herself taking the path where she left the man, and saw him still standing while facing his back to her to where she left him. “Uhm…” “Excuse me, Mister.” She called to the man’s attention in a shy voice. The man faced her, with a smile but didn’t say anything, while waiter for her to speak up, and she did. “I-I was wondering, If you want to come with me to dine out?” she asked. “I mean, you must be starving also, and its rude off me not to even offer you and just left, right?” She added with her voice getting smaller as she explained. “Thank you for your offer, and its so kind of you, but I’m alright, I’m not hungry. You eat a lot, and enjoy, I’ll just stay here.” The man politely decline with gentle smile. Kealan, felt her face heated up, after seeing the man’s beatiful smile, that she always like to a person. “Okay.” She answered with a nod, and left. While, walking to the entrance of the village, with some instant food and take out in her hand, she can’t help but to ask herself, if it is alright to leave the house with the man she left there, and remembering seeing the man is also there last night, and let her stay for the whole night, making her more curious about him. “But, Mrs. Trinidad that, they are sending a helper to clean the house right?” She asked to herself. “He must be the helper’s son, and was also looking to the house for a while.” She answered to her own question. “But he doesn’t seem a helper’s son.” She said to herself again, as she continue to form a conclusion and questions inside her heard. “Is it? But, why would the Trinidad couple would just let him there?” She asked to herself again. Unless... The other part of her brain suddenly said, creating a conclusion of who is the man she left in the house alone, making her halt from her tracks. “It can’t be…” A thief! Her mind said completing the conclusion that was form inside her head. “s**t! You are really an i***t Keal. Why didn’t you even thought about it, soon!” She can’t help but to curse and spat to herself as started to run towards the house. Kealan was panting when she reach the porch of the house, and was about to turn the door knob open, but halted when she remember that she had not bring something to defend herself. She can’t help but to hissed to her own foolishness. Kealan started to look around to the front yard to find something she can use to defend herself just in case the man she left is really a bad guy, for she don’t know if its because the owner of the houses are rich that she can’t even see any single person to ask for a help because of the tall walls around the houses, so she left no choice but to gain all the courage she has to check the house. She was just got lucky, that this house was open, that she has a place to stay in the middle of the massive rain last light. “I think this will do.” She uttered when she found a tree log with a size of an arm at the side of the yard. Kealan tried the log by swaying it hard to the air, while going back to the porch, and just stop when she arrived infront of the door. Gulping, she grip the log in her hand, while slowly, turn the knob to open the main door. Her heart beat race as she slowly open the door. The door is already half open, when she heard a voice from behind, making her jump and scream very load while swaying the log with all of her might to the air to defend herself as her body response but with her eyes close. She just stopped, when she didn’t feel hitting anything, but instead she heard a baritone chuckle, and she found the man she left inside the house chuckling, while shaking his head when she opened her eyes again to see who is it. “I made you startled again, I’m sorry.” The man immediately apologize after his chuckles died down. On the other hand, Kealan was dazed for a while, seeing the man infront of her. “Y-You… W-Why are you still h-here? Aren’t you supposed to be gone by now?” She asked in a stutter as her heart is still racing for too much shock about the man sudden appearance for the second time. The man’s forehead creases as he look at her with a questioning gaze. “Why would I be gone? I also live here.” The man replied making her jaw fell opened. “W-What do you mean living h-here?” She asked after recovering from what she heard. “I-I mean how,” she asked confusingly, “the grandparents of the owner of this house is already hired me to be this house caretaker.” Kealan notice that she is still holding the log so she first place it at the side of the door first before facing the man again, while thinking about what is happening, when she thought about something again. “I just want to clarify something Mister, but are pehaps…” She asked and the man nodded as an answer without even hearing her full question. “I am, so that’s why I also live here.” The man said, confirming one of the conclusions that she had in her mind.
