The devil's property
“She's not yours!” Diane spoke boldly, shoving Lucy away from the stranger's prying eyes.
He only laughed, taking a step towards them and watching them all tremble in fear. “You can run, but you can never hide from me. I gave you and your filthy husband all the time in the world to bring my bride to me but you both thought you were smart.” He let out a deep chuckle, his voice resonating and causing a chill to run down Lucy's spine.
Hiding behind her mother and clutching her dress with her cold hands, all she could do was wonder what was going on and why the huge, strange man was calling her his bride. Her eyes welled up with tears as the thought of being forced away from her family clouded her head.
“Now, hand her over quietly, or else..” he gritted his teeth, his hand moving to his bare chest to caress it.
Diane fell on her knees, her lips quivering and her eyes filled with pure terror. “Please, don't take my child. She's too young! Take me instead, I will gladly give myself!”
“What's happening?” Harper trembled beside her sister, tears streaming down her cheeks.
“You?” The stranger backed away, “you are old and worn out, I have no use of you.”
“Lucy is not going anywhere with you, I won't allow it. You either take me or you leave us the f**k alone!” Diane yelled with the little bit of strength she had in her.
The stranger's lips curved into a demonic smirk, “you speak like you have a choice.” He raised his hand and claws popped out of where his nails were supposed to be. “Don't make me angry. You have one last chance.”
Lucy trembled at the sight of the claws, Harper clutched her arm as they both realized that they were not standing before a human being. Lucy whispered, watching him get closer and closer, her knees shaking from fear.
“Please… don't take my daughter.” Diane mumbled, right before the stranger mercilessly dug his claws into her heart, ripping it out instantly.
The girls screamed, their sharp voices echoing in the silent room. With trembling hands and pounding hearts, they watched their mother drop dead in front of them, her heart still beating on the stranger's claws.
“Your mother was stubborn, and that's why she died. If you decide to be stubborn as well, you will suffer a worse fate.” He said, getting closer to the traumatized girls.
“I wanted my bride, but I guess I can take you too. You can be one of my slaves.” he smirked at Harper and she squirmed, refusing to let go of her big sister.
“I am Donovan Armando, and whatever I want, I get.”
.
“Let my sister go, she's just a kid. I'll follow you and do anything you want but she doesn't deserve this!” Lucy cried out as her hands were being tied behind her back. Two other large men had entered the house and taken hold of her and Harper.
“Shut up!” One of the men barked at her.
“Roger! Don't talk to my bride in that tone.” Donovan warned, his eyebrows pressed together in anger. “Don't worry princess, we won't harm your sister.” He smiled at Lucy, but his eyes screamed terror.
“Take them out and let's go.” Donovan instructed as soon as the girls had been properly tied up.
“Nighty night girls.” Roger grinned, placing a handkerchief laced with a large amount of chloroform over Lucy's nose. She took one last glance at her sister before finally passing out.
“Lucy..” Harper trembled, tears streaming down her red cheeks. The huge man approached her and placed the same handkerchief over her nose until she also passed out.
As soon as both girls lost consciousness, they were carried outside and thrown into the back of a truck where they remained until they arrived at Donovan's home. He had them thrown into a dark room, instructing that they remain there until they woke up.
“Lucy..”
“Wake up Lucy.”
Harper's soft voice tore through the silence in the dark room, her elbows nudging her sister who opened her eyes slowly.
Lucy raised her head from the cold floor, a sharp pain tearing through her spinal cord. She winced and reached out, trying to find Harper in the dark. She finally grabbed her arm and pulled her closer, her heart thumping in fear as she had no idea where they were.
“I'm scared Lucy.” Harper sniffed, her body shaking from not only the cold in the dark room, but also from the fear of the unknown.
Lucy was equally terrified, but she knew that her sister needed her to be brave for both of them.
“Don't worry Harper, I won't let anything happen to you, I promise.” She placed a soft kiss on her sister's hair and let out a deep breath, the events of that day playing in her mind again. She couldn't believe that her mother was dead, and that beast of a man killed her.
Suddenly, the clanking of metal sounded outside, startling both girls who gripped each other even tighter. The door slowly creaked open, but barely any light got in because it was night already.
“Lucy..” Harper clutched her sister as a huge man stepped in, slowly walking towards them.
“It's time for you to finally meet your fate.” The man sneered, lowering his body and grabbing Lucy's arm forcefully.
“No!” She yelped as she was painfully pulled away from her sister.
“Harper! Please don't leave her alone here!” She cried out to the huge man who kept dragging her out of the room with him. Harper screamed and cried but the door was shut on her, leaving her all alone in the cold, dark room.
“Please, my sister.” Lucy whimpered, kicking and resisting but the man was far too strong for her puny self. He easily scooped her off the floor and placed her over his shoulder, leaving her to cry and plead like a baby.
Lucy was far too worried about her sister to notice that they had just entered a mansion. It was a beautiful, white mansion, surrounded with lovely rose gardens and gold carvings. It had trimmed bushes cascading down its length, and the marbled floors only added to its magnificence.
The man carried Lucy up the beautiful array of stairs, his hand trailing along the gold railings. Lucy's screams tore through the silent mansion but not one person was in sight. She was taken all the way to the room at the end of the hallway.
The man pressed the doorbell and the door opened into a grand, magnificent living room. It had a dark ambience, and gloom could easily be sensed in the air. The man finally put Lucy down, and her tear filled eyes scanned the surroundings.
“What is this? Where have you brought me? Take me to my sister!” She yelled, unfazed by the man's monstrous appearance. Not even the long scar by the left side of his face scared her.
“Your sister is fine.”
The familiar voice made her heart skip, and her lips started to quiver in fear. The man bowed and walked out of the door, leaving her alone with the devil himself— Donovan Armando.
Lucy's feet went cold as the atmosphere suddenly became eerie. Donovan's mere presence made her breath hitch, and his scent— a mix of rain and earth, made her stomach flip.
She heard his footsteps approaching her, and she held her breath. His cold, calloused hand grabbed her dainty arm, flipping her around like a piece of paper. She almost gasped as their eyes met. His dangerous eyes shone with a mix of red and gold, leaving her speechless and completely terrified.
Who was the man in front of her? Why did everything about him seem so otherworldly?
“Come now princess, don't be so scared.” His voice was dangerously deep, but a psychotic smile played across his lips as his face came closer to hers.
“What do you want from me?” Lucy trembled, her eyes trailing down his hot, bare chest.
“You are mine, you have always been mine, and you will always belong to me, dear Lucy.”
“I belong to no one, I'm no property!” She argued and he held back his laugh, genuinely impressed by her boldness.
“On the contrary, you are my property. You have always been.”
