Chapter 3: The Secret Valley

575 Words
Five years later, the sun shone brightly over the Silver Mist valley. The air was warm and smelled of blooming lavender and rich healing herbs. Surrounded by tall, misty mountains, this hidden paradise was a safe haven for good wolves who wanted to escape the violence of the pack wars. In the center of the valley stood a beautiful wooden cottage with a garden filled with colorful plants. Aria Winters stood in the garden, holding a basket filled with green leaves. She was no longer the weak, pale omega of the Blood Moon Pack. Her silver-white hair hung down her back in healthy, shining waves. Her emerald eyes were bright and filled with wisdom. Her skin was glowing, and her body was strong and curved. Over the past five years, her ancient royal wolf blood had fully awakened, giving her incredible powers of healing and a presence that made even strong warriors respect her. "Mommy! Look what I found!" A little boy ran out from the nearby woods, laughing happily. He was four years old, with short, messy black hair and a bright smile. But the most striking thing about him was his eyes. They were a brilliant, piercing golden color. This was Leo. He was the secret son of Alpha Ethan Vance, though the boy knew nothing about his father. Leo was incredibly smart and already showed signs of becoming a powerful Alpha wolf. His little body was strong, and he possessed a natural authority that made the other children in the valley follow him. Aria knelt down and caught her son in a warm hug, kissing his cheek. "What did you find, my little explorer?" Leo opened his small hands to reveal a beautiful, glowing blue butterfly. "It was hurt, Mommy. Its wing was broken. But I touched it, and it got better!" Aria smiled, but a small flicker of worry crossed her heart. Leo was inheriting her healing magic, but his physical appearance was a constant reminder of the man who had rejected her. Every time she looked into Leo’s golden eyes, she saw Ethan’s face. She had spent five years hiding from the world, changing her name to Alpha Aurora in the rumors, ensuring nobody from her past could ever find them. "You have a very kind heart, Leo," Aria said softly, letting the butterfly fly away into the sky. "Just like the magic of this valley." Suddenly, the wooden gate of the garden flew open. An elderly wolf named Marcus, who acted as the valley's guard, ran inside. His face was pale, and he was breathing heavily. "Aurora," Marcus said, using her new name. "You need to hide. There are strange warriors at the border of the valley. They are desperate, and they are demanding to see the legendary healer." Aria stood up, her posture instantly becoming regal and protective. She pushed Leo behind her back. "Who are they, Marcus? From which pack?" Marcus swallowed hard, his eyes filled with fear. "They bear the mark of the crescent moon and the wolf skull. It is the Blood Moon Pack, Aurora. And their leader is with them. Alpha Ethan Vance has come to our valley." Aria’s breath caught in her throat. The basket of herbs slipped from her fingers, spilling the green leaves onto the dirt. The past was knocking on her door, and the man who had left her to die in the river was now standing at her borders.
