Alpha Killian stepped into the cottage, his cold blue eyes scanning the room. He wore a expensive leather coat and had a deceptive, charming smile on his handsome face. Behind him, five large warriors crowded into the small space.
"Good evening, beautiful," Killian purred, bowing slightly. "You must be the famous Healer Aurora. Or should I call you Aria, the lost mate of the pathetic Alpha Ethan?"
Aria stood tall, her emerald eyes flashing with a bright, dangerous green light. Her royal wolf power pulsed around her body, creating an invisible shield of energy. "You are not welcome here, Killian. Leave my home before I make you regret it."
Killian chuckled, completely unfazed. "Such fire. I love a woman with spirit. I am here to offer you a deal, sweetheart. Ethan Vance is a broken man. His pack is rotting, and he rejected you like garbage. Why stay here? Come with me to the Blackwood Pack. Become my Luna, and together we will rule the north."
"I will never become the Luna of a snake," Aria spat.
Killian's smile disappeared, replaced by a cold, vicious snarl. "I wasn't really asking for your permission. Warriors, grab her! And find the boy. I know he is here."
The warriors lunged forward. Aria raised her hands, throwing a blast of concentrated green magic that knocked two of the men out the window. But the remaining warriors were fast. They threw a heavy net made of woven silver over her shoulders. The silver burned her skin, making her scream in pain and dropping her to her knees.
"Mommy!" Leo’s terrified voice cried out from beneath the floorboards. He couldn't stay silent while hearing his mother scream.
"Ah, the little prince is hiding," Killian smiled, walking toward the rug.
"No! Stay away from him!" Aria screamed, struggling against the burning silver net.
Outside, Ethan was walking toward the clinic, carrying a bouquet of wild lilies he had picked himself, hoping to leave them on her doorstep. Suddenly, he heard Aria's scream echo through the valley. The sound of his mate in pain ripped through his soul like a bolt of lightning.
His golden eyes turned completely wild. His inner wolf took full control. With a thunderous roar that shook the trees, Ethan dropped the flowers and shifted into his giant black wolf form mid-air, sprinting toward the cottage at an impossible speed.
