I held my chest as I grasped for air. Wait! I shouted. I looked around in what seemed to be a forest. However, it is different from the normal forest that I knew. The sky which is usually blue, completely turns into white. Leaves of the trees are no longer green, but as red as blood. The grasses are now in the color of gray. Something is not right in this place. Please, wait! I then again continued to run as fast as I could, hoping that I would manage to catch it. I can feel the chilly wind down to my spine as I run. In the world where I came from, there is a belief that when you catch a leprechaun it will grant you three wishes in exchange for their freedom. I never onced believed in such creatures, not until now, where I can see it running right in front of me. The little guy would not even look back at me nor listen to my screams. It continued to run and run, giving me a hard time. This small creature wearing a green cloth entered through a small hole in a tree. No! I screamed on top of my lungs. I immediately come closer to the tree. I slowly kneel and put my head on the grassy ground. My left eye peeping in the hole. Hey there, little guy. I mumbled as I tried my best to remain calm and not scare the leprechaun hiding inside the tree. It's face could not hide the fear that he is undergoing at the very moment. I breathed a sigh of relief, realizing that what I thought an endless chasing finally came to an end. Do not worry. I whispered to the scared guy inside of the tree. But the expression in it's face did not change a bit. I mean no harm to you, little one. I continued. The leprechaun stood still inside the end of the tree, not even moving an inch. You can come out now. I got up from the ground and took a step backwards, giving enough space for him. I have waited for a few seconds before the leprechaun finally decided to get out of the hole. It looked directly into my eyes, his body trembling and fear is still visible in the little guy's small face. I sincerely apologize for scaring you, mister. I bowed my head and looked down at him with my face showing an apologetic expression. Wha-what is it tha-that you want? The leprechaun said while stuttering. I then again sat on the grassy ground in front of him and told him the reason behind my actions. I used to hear from humans back where I came from, that whoever manages to catch a leprechaun will be granted three wishes. He just silently listened to me as I spoke. And wha-what is it tha-that you wish to be gra-granted? He asked with the tone of confusion in his voice. Can you bring someone back to life? I down in the dumps asked. There is no such thing as bringing someone back to life. The leprechaun replied. I dazed in dismay for a few moments after hearing what he said. B-but, according to them y-you will gra-grant my three wishes. I said as frustration clouds my head. There is no such thing. He repeated as he looked at me with commiseration. The-there has to be another way! I hopefully said. The leprechaun could not console me nor stand how miserably I looked like. Where you are right now is ca-called spegulo. He then said. The-there is a well, a-a-a a wishing well in the outskirts here in spegulo. Still stuttering, he continued to explain. I-I-I I already told you, the-there is no such thing as bringing someone back to life. B-but if you still believe, the-then maybe you could gi-give it a try. As he finished, my eyes sparkled with merriment. B-but! He stopped me before I could even have a chance to speak. I-I-I am wa-warning you! He continued. The-there is a snake! Yes! A-a snake! It serves to look after the wi-wishing well. The-the serpent ki-king! Basilisk. No matter how tempting what it try to tell you, ne-never look at it. The leprechaun's expression tells that he is serious. Out of curiosity, I asked. What will happen if I look at it? The little guy walk towards where I sat and held tight on my pinkie. A-a-a single glance will certainly result to de-death. He said while looking into my eyes. Be-beware. He said with the look of concern in his face. You ca-can only use a ma-magical coin in the wi-wishing well. He told me as I listened carefully. Fi-first, you must collect a ma-magical coin. As he then again mentioned the coin for the second time, Where can I get this magical coin? I asked where that thing can possibly be found. A-a-at the end of the rainbow, in my pot of go-golds. He answered. I looked up to the sky, the rainbow nowhere to be found. And when will the rainbow appear? I asked the leprechaun. A-after the snow. He responded to my question. And when will it snow? I asked him once again. Whe-when the moon became full. He once again answered my question. The little guy and I get up from the grassy ground and started walking our way back to his place. He offered to let me stay for a little while in the unoccupied space at the back where they create the shoes while I wait for the moon to become full. I agreed due to the fact that I have nowhere else to go. When we arrived, the leprechauns got petrified as they saw me. It is just how I anticipated it. In two shakes of a lamb's tail, the tension between me, an enormous creature far from how they look like and the leprechauns vanished. I went to the unoccupied space provided by the little guy exactly the way we planned it. As I patiently wait for the full moon to appear above in the sky, I spend all the time that I have having fun and interacting with the leprechauns. It did not take a long time for the moon to become full. Not long after, a shout from one of the leprechauns was heard all over the place. Then all of a sudden it began snowing, It's snowing! Said the leprechaun. But it's tint was far from white. It was violet. What a strange place. I mumbled to myself as I opened my palm to catch some snow. Afterwards, when the leprechauns and I had enough of the snow, we called it a night. I went to my boudoir while they walk under their mushrooms. The worn out leprechauns and I immediately fell asleep in no time. When we woke up the next morning, at last the pulchritudinous rainbow finally showed itself. I can only feel joy surging all throughout my entire body. This time, I will now definitely bring them back to life. I told to myself. I thanked them and we said our farewells. Before I took my leave, they gave me two pouches. The first pouch holds a silver shilling and the following with a single golden coin. According to the leprechauns this golden coin in the second pouch will help me arrive safely in my journey to the wishing well as I encounter different difficult situations or meet some menacing creatures that are living here in the spegulo world. It will help you to extricate, the leprechauns added. As I was about to start my journey to the wishing well, while walking, I felt a cold sensation in the part where my ankle is. I then remembered that I was wearing a golden anklet. I rushed back to where the leprechauns are and in exchange for their hospitality that they have shown me, I decided to give them my golden anklet to show my gratitude. I smiled, and then I looked above the completely white sky where the breathtaking rainbow is and took a long deep breath. I began to walk with the pouches in my hands, following the end of the rainbow.
