The Twin Lunas

Meylani POV: It all started like any other nightmare. When I opened my eyes it was like I was reliving it all over again. I was 18 years old, walking with my twin sister Maya outside the mansion. Maya was complaining about not finding her mate the night before. I ignored her like any big sister would and told her, " well if you insist on whining about it, then I pity the man that gets stuck with you" I started to leave when I heard a twig snap in the forest nearby and a peculiar smell hit my nose. My wolf Midnight growled and warned me to back away as quickly as possible. Before I could move a large black wolf slowly stalked out of the brush towards us. Before I could turn to protect my sister, the Beta Alexander jumped on the wolf's back. I instantly knew that it must have been a rogue. Beta Alexander was swift to kill him and shifted to his human form. He grabbed some clothing that the pack had kept behind a tree and started to shoo us in the direction of the lake. He told us in low voice that the pack was under attack by rogues and our parents had been killed. My younger brother and the rest of the pack warriors were fighting to keep the rogues back. Beta Alex was here to get us to safety and protect us. Mayhem was only fifteen years old but his wolf had come to him at twelve years old. He would be alpha now since our father is dead. Mayhem is well trained and even as strong as the higher warriors. When we came to the lake house we could see that the battle had been scattered out and there were only a few rogues left. But whqt freightned me the most was the wolf at the head of the battle. Our uncle Markus, my father's own brother was the leader of the rogues. The next thing I knew was a hand around my neck and that's when I woke up. My bed full of sweat and I was breathing heavily. This dream has haunted me for the past five years since the battle. My parents death and the rise of my brother to alpha. we won the battle and my uncle has not been seen since then. Yet that night still invades my dreams and sends chills down my spine. I reach for my neck to stroke the scar I received that very night, a reminder that I barely survived. Mayhem my younger brother with the help of a neighboring pack managed to fight the rogues back and save our lives. Maya and I were rescued but not before we both received a souvenir to remember our uncle by. That night marked a new Era for the BloodMoon pack and they still hold a ceremonial ball for those who lost their lives to protect the twins of Alpha Auralius. My uncle disappeared and has not been seen in the five long years that I have been in hiding. Well, it helps that he thinks I am dead and that the prophecy will have to be passed down to the next luna twins. I looked at my clock, it was only two in the afternoon. I didn't have to go to the club until 5pm. So I decided to head to the gym that I had downstairs. The gym helps me concentrate when my mind is going a thousand miles a minute. I ran, lifted weights and even punch the bag for a good two hours. I was stronger and faster then most alphas as well as some extra abilities that comes with the prophecy but I haven't quite learned all of them yet. After the gym I took a hot shower and dressed for the club. I own four clubs across four different packs and all four of them brought me a lot of money. Not that I couldn't afford a nice place before. You see my mother was a princess, her twin sister Aurora is actually the queen of all werewolves and my mother left each of us a small fortune to use. My brother used his for his business and tripled that amount in two years. Maya bought herself a boutique and started her own clothing business as well as her own clothing line. She made designs for most of my wardrobe, always sending me new clothing in the mail. I bought my first club and my two story five bedroom house in the pack boundaries. After I threw my outfit on I put my black laced boots on, another design of my sister's and walked down to the car. As I drove I couldn't help but think of how I ended up her. ****FLASHBACK*** "Lani, you don't have to disappear, we can protect you from our uncle and Maya as well." said my brother Mayhem. "The pack would die for you, you know that." "Yes, but I don't want them to fight for me. I can take care of myself and I am not doing this for me I am doing this for Maya." I said. "The pack has to protect me because, I am the alphas daughter. But once they learned that me and Maya were from the prophecy they singled me out and treated me differently." "They know that I am the evil twin and they shy away from me when I walk past them. They don't even stop to say hello." "I want to be somewhere that no one knows the prophesied me, but the real me." "the only way I can do that is for me to fake my death and hide in plain sight." ****END FLASHBACK**** That moment I knew that faking my death and moving away was the best option not only for me but for Maya as well. That is when I met Alpha Samson. Samson was a gently person, he was caring and honorable. His father died when he was 21 and he took over the pack. He continued to help others and evwn accepted many rogues with families into his pack. When we met he was actually visiting our pack to find his mate and to make a treaty with neihboring pack of course he could not stop flirting with me and we instantly connected. Not in the mate sense of way but in a way where if we never found our mates we could accept that we were enough for each other and mark one another. That is when I came up with the idea of moving to his pack and he was all for it. Of course I had to tell him about everything and he agreed that I would be welcome among his people and I could move as soon as I needed. We didn't really have to fake a car crash because, there was an actual car crash not far away from pack boundaries. We gave the young lady a proper burial and used this to our advantage. The local newspaper that day read, "Body of Meylani Jackson found saturday night May 20th 2001." They wrote nice things about the women they watched grow up and then slowly shunned. It was quite comforting. I changed my name with the help of a friend to Maya Lejaxes and Samson had a house built for me not far from his pack house. I told him I wanted to be far away from pack life but still somewhat close by. Then life happened. Samson found his mate a year later, Aaliyah. A beautiful puerta rican on the run from an abusive boyfriend. Samson saved her life and he turned her into a wolf during their mating ceremony. we are the closest friends almost like sisters. I taught her everything there is to know about the supernatural world. It didn't matter to her that Samson and I dated at one point. She was happy he had someone in his life that cared for him. I bought my club and it hit off within 6 months, so good that I opened up four more in neighboring packs. I had my fair share of dates but I seemed after each time I met a good guy he ound his mate a few months later. It didn't help one of my gifts was that I could feel people's mates. Some wolves even came to me foe relationship advice and I could feel a flutter in my heart that let me know their mates were close by. I am safe in my own little cocoon and nothing could ruin it now. Well finally at the club, I walk in through the back and am greeted by all my employees and friends. Not once since I have been here has anyone run away from me. I fit in here and I was welcome. Lizzy my manager and close friend walked up to me and said, "Where have you been, there is a man at the bar asking for you and he says it's very important." "He won't give me any information and just keeps saying it's for your ears only." she said. I could see urgency in her eyes as well as annoyance with this guy that couldn't wait a few more minutes for me to show up. I just laughed at her, she wasn't know for her patience. Especially when it came to her time, her poor mate was rushed into proposing for her because she couldn't wait any longer, they only knew each other for three full weeks. But they loved each other and he was going to ask her the next day. I put my things in my office upstairs, passed by the VIP lounge where most of the alphas and betas hung out at when they visited. Alpha Erickson and Beta Yuri where sitting with the Sanders sister's, those two were always trying to hook up with ranking members. What they didn't know was Erickson secretly liked Melissa the bartender downstairs and actually I believe he is mates with her, she just refuses to admit it because, she doesn't think a bartender deserves an alpha. Yuri on the other hand likes men and is actually dating women to keep his mother happy. Whichever women they make him marry as long as he has a son to carry on the family line they are content with his decisions. I went back downstairs to the bar and searched for this very mysterious impatient gentleman and my eyes immediately connected with Michael. my brother's best friend and beta. I froze in my spot when he saw me, usually he would visit to check in and see how I was doing, however he already had that check in a month ago. He visits every three months. I knew something was wrong and if Mayhem sent his beta it was something with the family. His face was grim and his eyes said it all. Something bad happened and for the first time in five years I felt fear. I was frozen to that spot until he cleared his throat and I saw that he had come closer. I could hear my heart beating faster. When I looked at him I couldn't breathe. "Well, what happened?" I said He wanted for a minute before he sighed and then spoke, "Lani, Maya is missing!"
