Daisy looks apprehensive, but she nods. “Okay,” she says. “Please tell me now.”
“Larry, Seth, and Steele are now captured by the King’s warriors,” I say. Daisy gasps, I continue. Although since I don’t know why they’re taken, I decided to lie. “We trespassed, and now they found them. They might kill my three friends, and one of them is your fated mate. You are our only hope. I need to have you as my bargaining tool. If you escape from me, they’re gonna kill all the three of them, including Larry.”
“But why are you trespassing?” Daisy asks, bewildered. “If you’re not invited.”
