Payne: It was almost sun up when we got home. Zulu and her brother had been talking for a while downstairs. I had been waiting for an hour but I can't really complain it gave me some time to sort all my thoughts. They're alive. My family is here. "Are you still up?" Zulu asked from the doorway. I sat up. "Yes ma'am," I answered. She walked in with my favorite half smile on her lips. It told me she was thinking. "How are you feeling?" "A bit tired. You?" "Same but I can't sleep," I answered truthfully. I think it was because she wasn't in the bed with me. "Tell me about you," "Lay down. Let me shower and get comfortable," I nodded as she grabbed some clothes and went into the bathroom. I stared at the ceiling until I felt the bed dip next to me and I felt her slip under the covers
