The Wild Wolf Within

Abduction!

Lia's POV

I seen Red head off to the the bunk house, I made sure to leave some nibbles in the house before heading off to start morning chores of feeding, cleaning and exercising the horses. I grabbed my pistol, while going out the front door. Chief always on my heels, and our livestock guardian Fluff always watching from her favorite lookout spot. I headed to the stable, I had a full day ahead. Needed to get the trust of one of the ones who had came in just before all the crazy went down. he had a halter on but it needed to come off and I needed to spend some time getting to know who he was and how he ended up here.

Feeding done, and was cleaning stalls chatting with the horses as I worked in each stall. Warrior telling me had seen those wolves we had seen the day before wandering around. He said they seemed pretty respectful but he also planned to keep an eye on them. Chief was asleep on the hay in the sun. I laughed such a good watch dog, shook my head and went back to work. I had finished basic chores, cleaning and feeding when I decided to head back to the house for some water and a snack.

Turning the corner of the door, I headed back up the walk way to the house. None of my senses on point, just in the moment in my head. That is where I know I went wrong. I was to lost in my thoughts to see the shadow or to see what swooped down and grabbed me.

When I looked up from the shock and pain of what had just picked me up by my shoulders holding me in a grip with claws in tow. I seen black scales, feet like a dinosaur, the super sharp claws digging into my shoulders while my legs dangled below. I heard Chief baying in the distance. At least he could tell people what happened.

That thought rand through my head as my eyes caught sight of glowing red eyes and a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. "Good you are alive," it growled. At that point, I went limp and passed out. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would see a dragon.

"I have no idea what they want with her." Huffed a gravely low voice I heard waking back up from passing out.

"Ewwww she smells like wolf and magic." I heard another squeal in disgust.

"Yes! I know its horrid! Not even sure why they want this flea bag." I felt my body get flung onto a hard surface.

"Weak enough to see one dragon and pass out." Maybe they are hungry." the first voice scoffed.

I heard their feet plod out of the area I was in I opened an eye to glance around. No one else, the second eye opened. I was in a cave, where I was not sure. The walls dark grey, much like castle walls. I was in a make shift medieval cell of sorts. I seen, somethings on the other side of the bars in the room adjacent it, but could not make out what they were. I could feel chills, in my body.

"Tala, are you there?" I asked in my head.

"No young wolf, your inner wolf has been put to sleep for now. We can't have you changing on us unexpectedly." The voice who said this boomed in the cell. Enough to hurt my ears, and the vibration caused my body immense pain.

"What the f**k are you?" I heaved and growled at the same time.

"I am everything that goes bump in the night and makes you fear what hides in the darkness. I drink in fear like it is water. You shiver, I smile. You scream I breath it in like the armoa of baked bread. What I plan to do to will be mean, horrible and very very fun for me. I want to know your bloodline. You are not like my other wolves. Who is your founder?" It growled. Vibrating the walls, my body and even the deep spaces of my mind.

I could not help but scream. It hurt, like every bone, in my body was being broken at the same time. The agony I was feeling right there there was no words or thought.

"That was a taste of what to expect. Understand when I comeback you will get that ten fold." It was like a weight suddenly lifted off my chest.

"Lia!!" I heard Tala suddenly.

Tala!" relief washed through me. "Do you know where we are?" I asked with hope.

"Yes," you could hear the saddness in her word. "We are in the Draconian caves. I know of no one who has made it out of here." Immense saddness flowed through her to me.

"Why couldn't you talk to me when it was here?" I was curious.

"Because the powers gave us two personalities for you to learn the ways, we are like their wanna be wolves. In that respect they can basically mute me." You could hear the disgust in her voice.

"Is there a way to get around it?" I had no idea how magic worked or having a wolf spirit inside you did.

"I do not know of one," Tala answered with saddness.

I had no words for what I was in. I was tired, drained of all my energy and getting nervous. I did not want to be afraid but I didn't want to give it that. Sleep, that seemed to be the best option. I could rest and perhaps an idea would come or who knew a rock could fall on me. I shook my head "no!" I yelled at myself I needed to suck it up and not give in. Sleep that was the option I needed right now. Perhaps with a clear head my thoughts might lead to a plan. That is what I needed, a plan.

I didn't know how long it was that I slept but I felt better. In the dream I seen that managed to use Mother Nature's power to create a garden cavern. That is how I managed to escape. The question that arose was is that a metaphor or was it possible that I could do it in real life. "Tala, did you see the dream I had?" I asked.

"I did, and yes Leto was birthed of two ancient Titans. Phoebe her mother was part of the Earth herself. I don't see why its not possible. We are given messages from our guides and ancestors in times like this." I could tell she was doing some of her own checking. I was not sure how she did it but she found answers to odd questions like this.

I sat up, closed my eyes and imagined the scene I had seen before. Bright green moss covered the walls, ivy like flowers crawled along the floor, water came from a spring as you could hear the lazy bubbles going along. The flowers gave off a sweet aroma, distinctly different then any I smelled before. The light in the room came as if almost from the sun. There was a warmth and connection the defied the starkness of what the cave looked like in its grey dullness. Nothing about the image in my mind was scary. In fact like an oasis deep underground. Looking down I seen a line of symbols just near the bars. Closer to me in a perfect circle where I sat was another set. They felt stronger then the first. I felt at home and protected. I went to my necklace that had been given to me. It was gone. I did not remember that happening. It must have happened when I was taken at some point while I was passed out.

My eyes flashed open, as it felt like evil was coming. I looked around me, there was moss, flowers, magical symbols and water. How had I done this? I wondered.

"You have the blessings of both the ancient Titans and our Mother. What you willed even in this horrid place was granted." Tala had an awe factor to her words.

I suddenly had a flash back to a dream when I was in my late teens. I had stayed overnight in a haunted house out of a dare. During the night it got wild, objects were flung off shelves, and the air grew super cold. Like your breath froze in the air. I remember being terrified watching it unfold before me. Suddenly and without warning I said a word in an ancient langauge I did not know I knew. A blue light shot out, slamming into the poltergeist that was causing it all. The blue light fanned out in a circle creating an all stop on the objects. I looked at the others with me. We stood dumbfounded as the objects fell and everything went normal. The air even settled and warmed. Perhaps it was true. Perhaps there was magic in our blood.

"Yes dear one, we are ancient race. we contain magic elemental. It is our choice what we do with it." Tala gave me a mental hug. "You would not have said that word if you had not been in grave danger. Each word holds its own power. In the langauge if magic, it contians the truest form. Which can control, kill and rebirth in an instant. Why only a few lines have it. To much power for everyone." She felt still close and the warmness of her words settled around me like a bubble of power.
