Old Friend

Joe sat back in his chair, a smirk about his lips. "It was." There was a playful glint in his eyes as he looked at me. "You were running my woods that day. I did not mean to spook the grey but could not help the smell that drifted from you guys." He eyes warmed, there was something in them that made me look away. "I get it, I should not have been on the trail." I grabbed the cup on the table just to watch the contents of it splash across the table. "I am sorry." The sheepish look I gave to One who Remembers was one that I knew was just as awkward. "I see, the family awkwardness has managed to travel the line well." She smiled, her fangs only hinted. "Yes, that it seems." I said with a shy giggle. I glanced at Joe. I could see he was watching me closely. "How long have you been watching me?" I asked him. "Since I was asked to come here?" He mentioned off hand as he ate the food before him. "That Dragon pact part of it?" I vollied back to him. "Actually no, that was a bit surprising, but seeing as how it would require me to be with you for as long as needed, I figured it would be well worth it." There was a wolfish glint to his eyes. Tala grew excited, I reminded her he was not Red. Though even I have, been oddly looking at him to. "Dragon pact?" I heard One who Remembers ask. "Yes Tvso made him promise to watch over me after Tvso killed the black dragon that was the one to take me." I summarized. I watched her grey eyes turn violet and look at Joe. "Did he seal it with the elder light?" Joe dropped his head a little and answered, "He did, also told Accalia that he would come back once it was all done to tell her the missing history personally." His eyes still down cast. Violet eyes looked at me, "A dragon sealing a pact is much like a union or a marriage." Looking back to Joe, "I understand why you agreed, though I wish it had been done with her full knowledge." She sighed, closing her eyes she opened again and they were grey again. "What does it mean?" I asked. "Dragon's light seals one soul to the other. Being that he sealed us. I am to protect you even if it means my life. Souls sealed or a contract is formed. From now on, even when we are reborn in new lives our souls will look for each other." He sighed pushing the food away. "I see, I know of soul contracts." I looked at One who Remembers "will this effect Red and I?" "No child, you have a bond with that man like the moon does with the stars. He will love you fiercely, and always." Looking at Joe, "I suspect this maybe a bit difficult for you." "I knew it would be. I have never seen one who has a contract with two other souls. Even in Dragon lore this does not happen." He sat back in his chair stretching out his whole frame. It was like watching a mountian lion stretch after eating a meal. Dangerous but you still were pulled closer. I shook my head of those thoughts, Tala added, "Not a mountian lion but an alpha wolf," she hummed with exictment. Ugh, one person in my head was hard but two.... Lord help me. This was gonna get difficult. I love Red, but this strangely quiet and oddly very seductive man was gonna test all that I hold dear. The attraction to him was like a leash pulling me in that direction. I needed to get back to Red. I knew once in his arms this spell would or whatever it was would flop. Well at least I hope it did. I left One who Remembers at the gate to her place. She activated the wolf change again, and promised that I could call it from now on. Tala took charge of the canine body, as I watched us run towards my home. A multitude of thoughts passed through my head allowing me time to think about what had just happened in my life. I was taken by a dragon, tortured by a shadow monster and healed by an ancient being who was bonded to an ancient dragon. One who Remembers was just as aged and of my own family line. We had lost bits of knowledge to her but she had not. She kept tabs on all her family even when they did not know. How she did this remained a mystery, but she still knew. Joe was out of everything what bothered me the most. Even the fact I was taken was less then him. It bothered me I was drawn to him, it bothered me he had bonded us further. What did it mean that I had two souls wanting me. I didn't want them to fight nor did I want to be sitting on one side of the fence getting pulled to the other. "Lia, perhaps it meant that you will not age without someone to watch over you as One who Remembers has." Tala mentioned while she ran. That was a thought, though it made my heart hurt to think about Red not being with me. Just the thought of it tugged at my heart. "Loosing a mate does hurt," Tala agreed. "I hate to even think about loosing him." I said in response. "Life has unexpected things, death is the biggest one, we must live each moment to the fullest and remember it always in our hearts." She gave me a mental hug. I am not sure how she did it but she had managed. The wolf of me, took in a deep lung full of air, I could smell Red, his scent heavy on the wind directly in front of me. The wolf ran harder. Popping through the trees I seen Red, walking from the stables, a sad look to his face. As we walked forward, I felt my self go from down on all fours to walking on two. This time I didn't even feel the transition. Red looked up to see me standing there. "Lia!" He yelled running to me he grabbed me up spinning me around, squeezing me so tight I nearly thought I couldn't breath but I didn't care. I felt his kisses all over my face and when he claimed my mouth my whole body just melted around him. This is what I needed, him to have his skin touch mine, I need to feel him every where and all at once. ************ Red's POV ************ I looked up hearing what sounded like something walking my way. I had heard from Lada, they had found Lia and that once healed she would be coming home. I had also heard from Lada, that she was on her way just this morning. Looking up I seen the black masked wolf, as it came closer I seen, that wolf transform into Lia. I knew she was home in that instant. I wanted nothing more to get my hands on her. She came to me like, I had wanted. Hands grabbing with urgency, lips looking for a matching pair, a body needing touch. I was all over her. Every inch of her I covered with my hands and a good portion of it with my mouth. I picked her up carried her to the house. My mouth never left her nor did my hands stop roving. Once through the door, our clothes just peeled off. The pants, socks, shoes flung in a large circle as we moved into the bedroom. Our bodies never leaving each other for much longer then to fling an article of clothing out of the way. Lips ravenous for each other, hands hungry to touch and explore what had been missing. It wasn't until we had managed to fall on to the bed that I felt finally connected to her. The timeless dance of bodies, connected to our source allowing the souls to dance is what checked our yearning for each other. in that moment we were sharing once space together, knowing our spirit in union had reached its ultimate goal. I was laying next to her, after that moment, breathing heavy when I heard the humming clearly in my head. "Are you doing that humming?" I asked Lia. "No" Lia giggled "That is Tala the wolf in my head." Lia turned glowing blue eyes to me. I sucked in a breath from the shock of it, "She is just as happy with you as I am. That is her way of showing it." A lazy smile on her lips and she kissed me all over my face. "Again so soon, my lady?" I asked with a wolfish grin.
