Where the Boys Are
There was to be no quiet in their “home away from home,” as evidenced by the ongoing tumult around them. Jim knew there was nothing they could do but stick together where they were safe, in spite of misgivings about having to spend a second night in the hotel ballroom. He and Bob kept connecting eye glances, each knowing what the other was thinking, resigned to toughing it out. They were all tired and a bit on the grumpy side, which probably would not end any time soon.
Ryan and David were tired as well, but amazingly calm under the circumstances. Jim thought it might be more out of shock and a delayed reaction than anything else.
