A New Life
The families awakened and gathered in the living room, amidst bright sunshine coming through the windows. It was a beautiful day, and a quiet feeling of peace was the mood in the house.
The sound came from the bullhorn and they all went to the window.
“Hi, everyone, how are things today?” It was Officer Janke.
“Hi, guess what? Our husbands and sons got home yesterday. See?” Katherine pointed to the guys who had their heads popping out of the other windows.
“Great. That’s wonderful. Wanted to let you know that arrangements are being made to bring in large quantities of food and water. They’re working out some sort of vouchers to pay for things. It may take a couple more days, but you guys sound like you still have it all together. I will keep checking with you and letting
