Nicole's POV
To better care for my mother and save money, I’ve been sleeping on the folding bed in her hospital room lately.
After a night of looking after her, I had only been asleep for a few hours when a loud knocking on the door jolted me awake. Rubbing my eyes, I frowned and tugged at my hair in frustration.
"Is it the nurse doing rounds?" I quickly sat up.
It was still early, not the usual time for doctors or nurses to check in. Glancing at the clock on the wall, I saw it was only 6 AM.
