"I always thought they were looking at you," I replied with a smile.
Helena chuckled. "Well, they do, but I’m not the only one who catches their eye. Besides, my mate is Felix. Anyone who shows interest in me knows they’ll be dealing with a very jealous Alpha."
I blushed, lowering my gaze to my hands. "Well, I don’t care. I’ll wait for my mate."
I hadn’t told Helena that my mate was Michael, the Alpha of The Shadow Crown Pack, because it no longer mattered. After I left, I noticed the news reporting that Michael had taken Vera back to The Shadow Crown Pack, and they were likely now legally married.
"He’s here," Helena said, pointing toward the entrance.
Felix walked in, flashing us a broad smile as he approached our booth. He sat down next to Helena and kissed her cheek.
