Tobu fidgeted under King Wallace's menacing gaze, his own dark eyes averting the stormy ones glaring at him. He knew he had to give the report as it was but he wished its contents were a bit different. Tobu gulped heavily, silently chanting to the Towan ancestors for protection.
"Tell me Tobu why do you think I haven't disposed your carcass into the wild for all these years?"
Tobu stared at his feet, his lips quivering. He had retained his man servant position for a decade, no one had ever lived that long under King Wallace.
"Look at me you coward!"
Tobu lifted his eyes slowly, his thumbs twiddling in quick succession.
