Tensions Rise
As Lena settled into the couch across from David, the atmosphere in the room shifted from muted concern to palpable tension. She could see her husband’s brow furrow with apprehension, and she knew they were about to tread dangerous ground.
“Let’s talk about what happened earlier with Sofia,” Lena started, her tone firm yet cautious. “She believes there’s still a chance for her and you. What does that mean for us?”
David’s gaze hardened, the shock evident on his face. “What it means is that I’m trying to put my family back together. Lena, I made a mistake, but I'm committed to fixing it.”
“Do you still care about her?” Lena shot back, her voice rising. “Is that what this is really about? Because it sure sounds like you two have some unfinished business!”
