{Kanes POV} As I entered the forest, I caught a scent that started to drive Samson, my wolf crazy. It smelt like vanilla cupcakes, and it made my mouth water but when I tried following the scent, it faded just as I got closer to the castle, outside the dorms. I thought of hanging outside for awhile just to see if the owner of the scent would come by, but not even 2 minutes later, I got smack on my shoulder and faced my future Beta, Jace. "What the hell J" I asked, in a slightly pissed off tone. "I called you like twice and you never responded so I did the next best thing. What are you doing here? and what has you so distracted?" he asked "Nothing. Are the guys ready?" I asked, I scheduled a 10 mile run for the guys this morning, already one week in campus and we haven't let out wolves our for a run so I figured it was about time. "Yeah man, we're all waiting on you" he said as we turned and walked back towards the forest, I saw the guys waiting rather impatiently. "Kane what the f**k man? we've been waiting for the last 20 minutes" said Martin. Even though Martin was a part of my pack, he always seemed to irritate me the most, and it only got worse once we got to West Grove. He always had a big mouth and acted like he was above everyone here, technically he held no rank, he was just an omega that joined my group of friends. "Watch how you talk to your Alpha, Marty" said Damian, who would be my gamma. It seemed I wasn't the only one who noticed Martins change in attitude recently. "Right, what is up with you man?" said Jace also slightly annoyed. I know the guys and I have tend to talk to each other any how, but whenever Martin did it lately, it only pissed us off. "Enough ladies, let's strip and get started. We need to be back for dinner and we have business to discuss before that" I said, knowing that if I let them continue, Martin would only piss them off more, and I was in no mood for a fight. I let Samson take control and we started off with me leading the guys. Samson was a huge wolf, with black shiny fur and he was easily the fastest wolf between the guys. While running, Samson froze, sniffing as he caught the sweet vanilla smell again, stronger this time. Kane I need to follow the scent. Mate! he said before talking of at top speed. I mind linked the guys to continue the run and not to follow, but of course I was met with confusion and questions, the only thing I could do to get them off my back was to make it an order, and they couldn't refuse an alphas order. Once Samson said mate, I knew I had to see for myself and I didn't need the guys and their comments disrupting me while I ran towards my mate. 5 minutes later, I saw the most beautiful creature that even stopped Samson in his tracks, and he let out a low and lust full growl at the sight before us. At the edge of the lake, a stormy grayish blue wolf turned to look at us, with grey eyes, she wasn't a small petite wolf, she was almost as big as Samson, definitely bigger than the omega wolves. As Samson started moving towards her, a majestic brown wolf stepped in front of her, blocking our path and before Samson could do lunge at the brown wolf, I saw why our path was blocked. Our mate shifted back into her human form, and put a over sized t-shirt and sweat pants. Samson and I fought over control, because I wanted to meet her in my human form so we could communicate, finally he gave in and I shifted back. I untied my shorts from my leg and put it on, never taking my eyes off my black haired beauty. She never took a step forward, but looked at me completely shocked and I could see she was fighting with her wolf. So in a few long strides, I walked up to her taking her in, her big beauty grey eyes, plump lips, and her curvy tanned body. "Mate!" Samson said before I could even say anything. "Err h h hii" she spoke, with a soft voice that almost made me want to snatch her up and claim her then and there, however, before I could reply, she ran up to me filling the gap left between us and our lips crashed into a passionate, lust full kiss, and I knew it was all her wolfs doing and I did not mind at all. Eventually she pushed away from me, and I was instantly stung by the distance she created. Looking at her, I tucked a strand of her behind her ears and whispered "What's your name sweetheart?" "Ad.. Ad.. Adrianna" she said almost quivering as I touched her cheek. "Adrianna, such a beautiful name. I'm Kane" I said and I was about to lean in for another kiss before she pushed me away and I had to release my hold on her. "I'm sorry Kane, I don't know what came over me. I shouldn't of done that so quick, it was my wolf. I need to leave, I'm sorry." and before I could understand what she was saying, she ran off leaving me dumbstruck looking at the spot she just ran from. I couldn't believe what just happened. What the actual f**k just happened? Did my mate just run away from me? Why? I knew I could of stopped her, but her words left me speechless and before I could come to my senses, she already left. My mind is all over the place, trying to figure out that the f**k just happened. "I told you let me have control. You let her go " Samson said, growling at me. "you couldn't of done anything, or are you forgetting that there was no way you could of communicated with her?" "go to her, now!" he said before blocking me out. I really didn't need Samson to tell me to go find her, once I came to my senses and was about to leave, another female was running up to me, and I'm assuming it was the wolf that was with Adrianna. "Hey there, Kane was it? I'm Ella, and your mate that just ran off is my room mate. how could you let her run off like that?" she asked in a tone that made me sound dumb. "The last thing I expected from her, was for her to run off, and I was just about to go to her before you interrupted me." I snapped. "Don't be so rude man. I can take you to her, but you should try and be more sensitive to her, she literally just got her wolf a week ago, so she's still in the process of learning to control it" she said. That explains why she was so confused at first and then the sudden outburst of affection, which I didn't mind at all. At least I could breathe a little easier knowing that its probably just a lot of emotions for to deal with and I wasn't the main reason she ran off. As I followed Ella back towards the castle, the guys caught up to us, they all shifted and Jace immediately pinned Ella against a tree, with a loud growl saying "Mate!" To say I was surprised would be an understatement. "Easy there big guy, mind telling me your name first before you try dry humping me?" Ella chuckled, her cheeks were flushed and you could see she enjoy every minute of what just happened. Everyone just burst out laughing and Jace turned a few shades of red. "Jace, Jace Black." he said " will you guys shut the f**k up!" he added, yelling at the guys. "Alright. Everyone leave, the three of us need to have a discussion" I said and everyone looked at me with confused expressions "Now!" I commanded, and they slowly started to leave, giving me quizzical looks. "Man, what the hell?" Jace asked, equally confused at my sudden outburst. "Oh don't mind him, he is probably just eager to meet his future luna" Ella said, while wrapping her arms around Jace. He turned to her and looked bewildered. "Wait, what?" Jace asked. "Look J, I'm happy you found your mate, but before you found her, she was helping me out." I said impatiently "I found my mate Jace, and she happens to be your mates roommate, but she ran away from me, so Ella here is helping me find her. You can have your mate to yourself once we are done." I said, I know I sounded insensitive but I couldn't wait any longer, I needed to talk to Adrianna, and I needed to talk to her now, and no one would stop me. "hey man, chill. we will find the luna" Jace said. "Ella? that's a sweet name" he said looking at his mate. "Its actually Ariella" she said and gave him a kiss on the cheek. " I'm sorry if I was disrespectful earlier on, I didn't know you were an Alpha, I really was more focused on my friend" she said with an apologetic shrug. "Let's get back to finding her shall we?" I said with a half smile. {Adriannas POV} what the hell Storm? what did you just do that? I thought I told you I needed to take things slow? well, it was too slow for my liking you literally saw him for all but 1 minute and you jumped straight into his arms! you didn't even know his name! what if he's some physco? stop over thinking Adrianna, our mate is good, I can sense it, I could sense his wolf and his aura. aura? you could see his aura? yes I could. and I would of shown you how if only you never shifted back! With that, she blocked me out. I couldn't believe what just happened. Kane and his wolf were definitely something out of a magazine. He was at least 6'6, dark hair, honey eyes, bushy eyebrows, well defined jaw line with a slight beard, and oh so muscular. I was so shocked when Storm told he was my mate, and as much as I wanted to give in to him immediately after seeing him, I had to take things slow and Storm knew why. However, that didn't stop her from taking over and making the first move. When I finally got a hold of myself, I was so embarrassed I had to make a run for it. Having a mate right now didn't fit into the plan I had, and it definitely didn't fall under the category of laying low, not with all the secrets I had and promised not to tell. I honestly thought Kane would come after me, but once I was out of the forest, I realized he didn't and that kind of stung. I went straight up to the dorm room and plummeted onto my bed, replaying everything that just happened. Could I accept my mate knowing how my life was back home? Would he accept me if he found out who I really was? It was too much to think about, so I decided a shower might help cool me down. I couldn't stop thinking of the sparks that ran threw my body the moment we touched, and when his finger grazed my cheek, how much I wanted to just lean into his touch and stay there forever. I never believed in love at first site, even knowing the world I lived in, but I always thought people were just over exaggerating the mate bond, but I definitely believe it now. While I was in the shower, I heard the dorm room door open and I figured Ella was back, I had to apologize, I completely spaced when I ran away from Kane, leaving her behind. I took my time, trying to clear my mind and finally when my fingers started to crease, I knew it was time to shut off the shower and face reality. I wrapped my hair in my towel and put on my bathroom robe slippers on and opened the door only to be surprised by Kane sitting on my bed looking up at me. Ella was on her bed, looking completely flustered talking to a rather handsome guy, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was also pretty muscular and he looked at Ella with love in his eyes? What in the world was happening right now. "Adi! took you long enough" ella said coming towards me and pushing me back into the bathroom and closing the door, "girl you need tell me why the hell you ran away from your mate?" she asked, looking at like I was crazy. "agh Ella, you brought him here and you didn't even warm me? look at how ridiculous I look right now! I'm wearing nothing under this! and Storm is already howling in my head!" I said completely embarrassed. "Why do you even care though? He's your mate, he doesn't care. I'll go get you a dress and let your hair down, then you need to come outside and talk to him. He was so hurt when you ran, the guy was frozen and dumbstruck for at least 5 minutes. You owe him an explanation." she said before walking out. Oh s**t, I just dug myself into a grave. I never meant to hurt him, I was just so overwhelmed with everything, I didn't know what to do. "Change into this and come out soon" Ella said, handing me a black baby doll dress. I quickly changed and braced myself for what I'm sure was going to be a really awful situation. {Kanes POV} While waiting for Adrianna to come out of the bathroom, I wondered around her side of the room and found a family picture on her study table. I picked it up and couldn't help but notice the guy in the picture,he seemed so familiar. I placed it back down and sat on her bed. Her scent filled my senses and Samson was going crazy waiting for her again. Jace and Ella decided to wait with me so she could speak to Adrianna before giving us some privacy. After what felt like forever, the bathroom door opened and there she was, my beautiful sweet mate. She only had a gown and her hair wrapped in her towel but she looked so sexy, it immediately made me hard. She could be wearing rags for all I cared, and she would still be the most beautiful person. We stared at each other until she broke it and turned to Ella who ended up shoving her back into the bathroom. I let out a low growl, frustrated that I couldn't see my mate yet again. "Calm down man. Ella just needs to see if she's fine. We'll leave you be once she's out I swear" Jace said while rolling his eyes. "Agh I know I know. You know I'm impatient sometimes" I said looking at the bathroom door as if willing it to open so I could finally see those grey eyes again. The door finally opens and Ella comes out with her palms raised up "Just getting her some clothes to change and then we're out of your way" she said. After Ella handed the clothes to Adrianna, she and Jace left the room, leaving me to wait for Adrianna. Not long after they left, the door opened and she steps out in a black dress and her hair let loose but still wet. This girl would be the death of me, and I'm not sure how much longer I could contain myself, I wanted nothing more than to run up to her and bury myself in her for hours on end, I could hear her sweet voice screaming my name and moaning in ecstasy. I had to stop myself because if I lost control now, I might lose her forever. "Kane I'm so sorry. I never meant to hurt you, I was just so overwhelmed" she said, looking me in the eye, I could see she was sincere and looking me straight in the eye told me she had guts. "No need to apologize my sweetheart, I'm not mad, even though I was caught of guard, once Ella explained you had just gained your wolf, I figured you might of just needed some time." I said. How was it so easy to talk to her? Normally I wouldn't bother explaining or trying to comfort a person, but all I wanted was to make sure she knew I didn't hold anything against her. "Even so, I shouldn't of run away like that, especially after making the first move, I was so embarrassed" she said looking down at the last part. I couldn't help but chuckle "I loved that you did that. I wish it lasted forever" blah! romantic me? That's a first, but it was exactly how I felt. I could see her blushing so I stood up and walked towards her. I picked her head up so I looked into her eyes "Don't ever run away from me again, and don't ever feel embarrassed about what happened" I said, while placing a gentle kiss on her lips, it took everything in me not to go in for a deeper one, I really didn't want to push her. "Er I can't promise anything" she said with a chuckle letting me know it was a joke, while taking my hand in hers. I could see her instantly start relaxing once she took my hand, and I knew that was a good sign. "Can we take things slow? I mean, I know how we wolves are, but really I'm just starting to get the hang of it, and Storm can be such a pain in the ass sometimes that it's hard to control her. Ella said it gets much easier after the first couple of weeks and I only got Storm last week." she said looking at me. She looked so innocent at that moment I felt like a puppy in her hands, I knew at that moment I would do absolutely anything for her. "I understand, we'll go as slow as you need, and you can tell me anytime when things make you uncomfortable or become too much okay?" she nods, and smiles looking up at me, by the Goddess, I never thought she could get more beautiful until I saw her dimples on either sides of her cheeks, she instantly made me smile in return "I just need you to communicate with me, instead of running off, it would be so much easier" I said, in a mocking tone while smirking at her. "I'm never going to live this down am I?" she asked "Never." I said with a wink. I leaned down and planned to kiss her on her forehead, but she took me by surprise and pulled me into a deep and passionate kiss. She wrapped her hands around my neck and our tongues wrestled each other. Once we came up for air, she looked at me with the biggest smile. Darn, I knew I was in trouble. "Tell me about yourself little one?" I asked, leading her to her bed so we could sit, I used my wolf speed and placed her on my lap, holding her firm in place and I could see her blushing as she felt my member on her thigh. "uhm, ask and I shall tell" she said "Where are you from?" I asked, "I'm from California and you?" "New York. I'm the future Alpha of the Lunar Eclipse pack. Which pack are you from?" I asked. Although I've never really visited any Californian packs, we had neutral treaties with majority of them. "Oh erm, we're members of the West Palm pack. My grandfather is the alpha." she said. That's weird, wouldn't her father of taken over by now? or maybe an uncle? "Your grandfather? So you're alpha by blood" I said, "Sort of" she shrugs and starts to get tense. Her sudden change in demeanor told me not to push, and I wanted her to know she could trust me, but I also didn't want to push her so I decided to change the subject. "Any boyfriends I should know of back home?" I asked, I was sure someone as beautiful has her would have guys at her beck and call, but seeing her getting flustered after just a kiss told me that she wasn't the type. "well..."she paused and I let out a growl, from pure jealousy at the thought of her having a boyfriend "just kidding, no I'm not much of a boyfriend person, I've always been focused on my studies and my family" she said, taking me by surprise, I hoped her views on having a boyfriend changed now. "Hmm I see, I need to ask you something important" I said as I grazed my thumb across her bottom lip, then giving it a little nibble before looking at her, while a small moan left her lips, wanting more. "uh huh?" "Would you be my girl?" I asked "I mean, I'd have to think about it" she said, looking at me with those innocent eyes, as she saw the confused expression on my face, she started giggling and said "I was always meant to be your girl silly" she said, with big smile she wrapped her arms around my neck hugging me as if her life depends on it. I never thought I would ever be this happy. Just then I got mind link from Wyatt yo bro, get your ass to the courtyard, Marty is being a jerk I cut the link and let out a growl. What's this f**ker done now?
