Maybe it'll be different this time

Damien's  POV

As we parted ways I was unwilling to let her go as both I and Grey felt something was unsettling about the problem James had informed her about. Somehow her goodbye felt like she was trying to conceal some imminent danger that was upon her. However unwilling I decied to leave the doubts aside and think about how to win her back. " She seems to be in some sort of a pickle which is holding her back. If only we can get her to trust us enough we wouldn't have to part with her. ", said grey meaningfully. " I don't know it kinda Frustrating to me that she pushed us away  without even giving us a chance.", I spoke in a hurt tone and continued, "If you hadn't stopped me and taken control I would have seriously destroyed our chances of getting her to love us. I'm an i***t grey, you are right we don't know her circumstances and as her mates we have to be the ones understanding her and gain her trust.", I said as realization dawned on me. " Chatting with your wolf, Alpha? " Asked my beta as I sat motionless since we sat in the car. " Yes, just clearing my mind" I said distinctly sending grey to the back of my mind. As I tried to distract myself from Amber's incessant blabbering, I noticed Selena's secretary cracking lame jokes which only my beta seems to find amusing. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the duo. 'It was going to be a longgg rid---e or maybe not' I thought. Suddenly grey and I felt an uneasy feeling pierce our mind and we need to find Selena was the only thought running in circles in my mind. " Stop the damm car!!!", I roared causing the scared beta to bring the car to a sudden halt. Everyone in the car was very frightened by my sudden out burst but I had no time to waste. I lunged out of the car as it came to rest and shifted into my wolf and followed my heart to lead me to my mate. I prayed the moon goddess to keep her safe over and over again at least untill I could try and save her........... 

On the other side, in the forest where the battle was brewing........ 

Selena's POV

In every swing his attack was growing stronger, there was no way he was a normal alpha but he seems to be a Royal, I thought. No matter how hard I was trying to fight him off without harming him more than needed he was proving to be a tough nut to c***k. James knowing I wasn't using my full potential tried to weaken him in other ways by throwing huge broken branches through my fire balls to surprise him but somehow he always managed to conter-react just in time. With each passing moment my annoyance was growing so I decided to end this game now before he goes beyond control. "Enough!! " I roared, with an energy burst large enough to stop the rogue. I deeply nestled my focus into the  earth and built a cage like structure around the rogue's feet up to his waist locking even his hands in tho the rock. As he struggled to free his limbs I walked up to him and said, " Who are you? ", in a calm tone while glaring at him. " Your death you b***h!!! ", he shouted with contempt. Chuckling at his stupid anger and his guts to threaten me even after being bound by me; I said, " I will ask you this only once,  who sent you?.... ", in a menacing tone. His silent cold stares where some what irksome to me but before I could make a move, BAM!!!. 

The boulder I used to lock him was blown into smithereens by a power out break from the rogue. The impact of the blast threw me at quite some distance and knocked me over. Splinters of rock pierced into my leg and abdomen while James was knocked out by a rock that struck him on his forehead. As I pulled out the splinter from my abdomen blood follow tha path and kept oozing out, with great difficulty managed to stand on my feet. " Well this guy isn't half bad. Maybe I don't need to personally kill you, this pawn seems to be good enough to do the job. Filled with rage he is a worthy weapon waiting to be harnessed by me. What do you say little Royal?", said the rogue but his voice was different and he looked so life less and unnatural that I understood it wasn't the rogue but the one that caused him to attack the innocent people. Realization hit me that may be he was the reason this alpha had gone rogue. " An alpha is no toy for you to play around with, who are you and what do you want? " I asked gritting my teeth trying to hide the obvious pain I was in and portray my anger. "Oh who I am is no matter of concern to you but what I want is something you can provide. Hehehe!!! ", He said laughing in an evil and proud manner. " I want your heart, little one!!!!! ", he shouted before sprinting towards me with a creepy look in his face. I squirmed trying to move but the pain in my leg prevented me from even taking a step ast I fell flat on my face. I shut my eyes close and waited of the impact of the rogue's attack. But it never came...... 

I slowly opened my eyes to see a pitch black wolf biting down the throat of the rogue. The wolf threw the rogue far off onto the other side before approaching me while keeping his snout down and trying not to scare me. As he looked at me asking my permission to approach me I noticed his sea green eyes that left me mesmerized. Seeing that I didn't flinch he slowly approached me and began licking my wounds. I immediately understood it was Grey. He felt my need for his help and came to save me. Though set butterflies to fly in my stomach and Smiling at him I thought, 'Maybe it will be different this time. '
