Mate.......

Damien's POV 

My beta chauffeured me in my blue Ford Mustang to the Office while filling me on the points to be cover in the meeting. But I was in  no position to pay any heed to his words for I was lost in thoughts about finding my mate. My mind trailed onto all the possibilities in which I would meet my mate. I could also sense that Grey was on the edge about meeting his mate. My thoughts soon took a dark turn changing into questions that seem to almost break my heart. Will she accept me as her mate? What if she had already settled down with someone else?what if she wasn't even human and doesn't believe me? What if she hates me? What if she doesn't like how I look? Maybe this dress isn't good enough to meet her in.....'STOP!!! R u nuts!!! You know I can hear your thoughts right??Even i'm freaking out right now but that doesn't mean you start doubting our mate or us cuz I know the moon goddess entwined our fates for a reason and that our mate is just out there waiting for us so STOP SCARING ME!!!' Grey scolded me. He was right I was unnecessarily making a mountain of a molehill. The moon goddess had a plan for me so I didn't need to worry so much. 'Even if she is unwilling to accept us, we will win her over together' said Grey with a smug tone to cheer me up. 'You r right bud, we can do this cuz we have the fate on our side today.' I said with a self satisfying smirk creeping onto my lips and peeped out the window to find that we had already arrived and my beta had just completed giving me the agenda of the meeting which I completely missed.

I was preoccupied by several meetings until 2 in the afternoon when I was given a 10 minute break for lunch. During lunch my worries about finding our mate resurfaced. Grey had already grown restless and so had I. With each passing minute I could feel my heartbeat grow louder. My thoughts were interrupted when I felt someone's gaze digging holes into me. I raised my head to be met by the gaze of the HR manager of the headquarters, Amber Rains, the daughter of the Alpha of the Jade moon clan. She was girl in her twenties who was spoiled since birth as she lost her mom when she was a baby.  Her over protective father trusted her safety to our clan when he set out to to hunt down the vampires that killed his wife. Blondie here got the job of HR manager by demanding it from my dad. Grey and I knew she liked us so we tried our best to avoid her but she kept coming to us with the silliest reasons. When the prediction was made the pack members said that she was furious and destroyed her room in rage. "Amber, what do you need?" I asked professionally masking my clear disdain of her." I am here to tell you I'll be accompanying you today whenever you leave the office building. I have you dad's permission so dont try to defy me." I hated how she tried to command me but there was nothing I could do as it was my dad's order. I just nodded my head in reply all the while focusing on my food without meeting her eyes.

A few minutes after she left my beta walked in saying that the hack n code meeting is set at 8 in the evening. Atleast now I had one good news since morning instead of meetings about how to solve various problems arising suddenly in all the departments. I had enough time to prepare myself for James's trickery. I asked my beta to clear my schedule from 7 to 8 to prevent any mishaps with James. After the lunch break I was completely stuck in the boardroom with all the heads or various departments. At 7 in the evening I came out of the boardroom with a nasty headache and a completely exhausted body. I plopped down on the couch in my office to take a nap befor setting out to the vampire territory. At half past 7 I was woken up by the continuous knocking by my beta, it was time to leave. I was in no mood to go there cuz the day was almost coming to an end but we had not yet found our mate. My wolf has been especially quite since the 2nd meeting this morning and I too was feeling dejected and found my self losing hope. In my depressed mood I was no longer in a situation to keep my cool. " I'll be there in a minute, NOW CLOSE THE DAMM DOOR AND GET THE HELL OUT!!!" I roared at my beta sending him practically running out the door. I needed to stay calm at the moment but not finding my mate seemed to have shattered my dreams and hopes. I I smoothed out the creases from my suit and set out for the meeting after deciding I wont be speaking any thing so that the relationship with them isn't ruined. I climb into the car and try to talk to Grey in the comfort and peace of my sound proof car. I could feel his presence but he refused to speak a word, I guess I too was in no mood to talk to anyone but i couldn't help but worry about him. We reached the territory border I received the news that James wasn't the one joing us but rather the the human CEO was going to attend us. The last thing I needed to do right now was to lash out on a human and hurt it. Though I was irritated there was nothing I could do and to add to my misery only one car was allowed to cross which meant that Amber was joining me on the ride from here on. All through the drive I kept my distance from Amber to prevent losing my temper over her.

When we reached their office I kept mum and made my way to the boardroom and settled in. Sensing my obvious discomfort, my team kept quiet and tried to stay out of my way. The members of the HACK n CODE slowly trickled into the room and took their seats. After a few minutes I felt Grey's excitement grow by the second. I could almost feel him waging his tail which sent a tingling sensation down my spin. The mystery was soon revealed when she entered the room. An angel clad in a black suit which was in contrast to her soft glowing snow white skin. Her hazel eyes seemed to look into my soul as strands of her raven black hair softly brushed the sides of her cheek after escaping her messy braid. Grey and I said in an unanimous whisper as the realization hit me, "MATE".....
