Caspian sat across from me on the couch, swinging his legs like the conversation we were having was the most important thing in the world.
“I have my first class today,” he announced. “Mama says that I am going to be learning like the other big boys.”
I looked up from the document in my hand. “Is that so?”
He nodded, proud and puzzled at once. “Yes.”
Cassandra smiled from the chair beside him. “He’s been talking about it since breakfast. I told him that he has to go to his classes tomorrow, and I explained to him how it was going to be.”
Caspian frowned. “I don’t know why I need classes.”
I set the papers aside. “That sounds like something you should figure out before your teacher hears you.”
He blinked at me. “But why do I need them? Why do I need to learn so much?”
