THE DAY YOU FORGET ME
Elarin City, October 4th, 5:42 PM
Liora stood outside the newly opened art museum, her heart racing louder than the crowd buzzing around her. Photographers, flashing lights, people laughing in elegant clothes—it was a glamorous scene. But all the noise disappeared the moment her eyes found him.
Caelum.
There he was, standing under the soft golden glow of the gallery entrance, dressed in a black suit that perfectly matched the calm sharpness in his eyes. He was smiling, talking to someone she didn’t recognize. So composed. So distant.
He looked like a man who had never met her.
“Liora,” Aven whispered beside her. “That’s him, isn’t it? You said if you ever got the chance… you'd talk to him.”
Her throat tightened. She nodded slowly, but her feet felt glued to the pavement. Ten years. Ten years without a word. Ten years with only memories that still smelled like rain and old books and childhood laughter.
She remembered his promise, clear as yesterday:
> “Caelum… once you leave, will you ever come back?”
“I promise I will. No matter what.”
But he left. And he never came back. Not for her. Not even to say goodbye.
Now here he was, the famous photographer, loved by millions on social media. And yet, all Liora could see was the boy who once held her hand under the stars and said he’d never forget her.
Tonight, he looked right through her.
Like she was no one.
Like she had never existed.
