Once I was able to gather my energy, I got up from the bed where Narien and I had been laying fully exposed. He'd already gotten up to shower and since I'd already showered I decided on getting dressed. I picked a simple outfit for myself and then laid some of Narien's clothes on the bed for him. Not after straightening out our bedsheets, however.
I was dressed in a white skirt and black t-shirt with my hair pulled back when I heard the bathroom door open. I was folding some of Narien's clothes that had gotten messed up in his drawers from when he emptied space for me. Without warning, I felt Narien's warm arms snake around my waist and it put a smile on my face.
"This... This is the life I've always dreamed of." He said softly, nuzzling the spot where he'd marked me.
I blinked a few times, looking at my hands that now rested on top of his hands and admired the ring I wore. My heart pounded as I thought of everything that had transpired in the past 24-48 hours. It had only been a day right? Nothing had been mentioned to me, so I just thought that all was well.
"Secretly married..." I said softly, leaning deeper into Narien's embrace. "I can't believe I just agreed to it like it was nothing, basically."
Narien chuckled, releasing me to see what I'd picked out for him on the bed. "It makes me happy," he replied. "Being devoted to one another, even if it's only privately, Goddess it just fills me with so much love and joy."
I finished folding his clothes and turned around. "It makes me happy too," I said, making eye contact with my mate. "I can't believe I'm here but I can't imagine being without you either."
"I'm never going to let you go ever again, Amethia." He met my gaze before pulling the fitted t-shirt over his head. It hugged his body perfectly, showing off his well-defined muscles. "I love you, my wife."
I felt my face go red. Narien smirked at my reaction, stepping closer to me after having pulled on a pair of jeans.
"Isn't it a little hot outside for jeans?" I questioned, feeling my face continue to burn bright red.
He caressed my face gently into looking up at him. "Is this another weak spot for you?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," I teased back.
He leaned in close to me, pushing me up against the dresser. "You're sensitive to words of commitment, they make you feel happy when I call you by them."
My eyes darted downwards. "Not fair," I whined. "You're just using the mate bond to get inside of my head again!"
He laughed, drawing away from me. "Maybe a little. But it's cute, so-"
Without a second thought I grabbed Narien's arm and pulled him back around to face me. I then pulled him down for a kiss and he happily obliged. I then took my chance to whisper in Narien's ear. "You can't tease me without reward, dearest husband."
His smile grew. "Please, only call me that."
"What? My husband?" I said playfully. "I know you like it like I do."
"Yes, I do." He finally turned away from me, returning to the bathroom to finish getting ready. I leaned back against the dresser and sighed. How did everything change so quickly. How was I married already?
My anxieties caught up to me and I began to panic, I sat on the bed trying to calm myself when Narien emerged from the bathroom and saw me freaking out. Without another word he came and held me tightly against his chest to try and help calm me down.
"We can stop if you're ever uncomfortable Amimi..." Narien spoke gently. "I don't want to force you into anything you don't want."
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." I mumbled. "I just start to overthink things and freak out. I want this. You know I do."
Narien nods. "I love you so much." He whispered into my ear.
I turn to him and our lips meet in a soft embrace. "I love you too." I replied, my hand coming up to his face. I examined his features. His soft brown eyes and his shaggy dusty brown hair entranced me deeper and deeper.
He smiled at my words, returning the embrace by taking my own face in his hands. "We should head downstairs, dearest wife."
I nodded, pressing a sweet little kiss to his cheek and standing. "Let me just find a necklace I can put the ring on," I replied.
Narien whined. "You're not going to wear it on your hand?" He asked sadly. When I turned to look at him he donned his giant Werewolf puppy-dog eyes.
"It won't be much of a secret if I wear such a beautiful ring on my ring finger, don't you think?" I asked with soft eyes.
He looked down and sighed. "You're right..." he trailed off.
I eventually found a thin silver chain for the ring. Stringing it through, I walked over to Narien holding out both ends to him. "Could you help me?" His eyes brightened at the idea and he took the ends from my hands.
I turned around and sat on the bed with my back facing Narien. Pulling my hair back, I felt him reach his arms above my head and slowly he strung the necklace around my neck. He clasped the two ends together at the back of my neck before his hands quickly wrapped around my waist. My hair was drawn over my right shoulder as Narien planted kisses over the spot where I'd been mated.
My heart fluttered. "Wasn't it you who said it was time we got going? Holding onto me like this isn't really helping." I teased him.
His warm breath tickled my ear. "I know, I know... You're just too damn hard to resist."
Blushing, I was finally released from Narien's grasp. I looked in the mirror to straighten out my hair when I decided on throwing the whole thing into a ponytail. When Narien noticed he smiled, but didn't say why.
Finally we were making our way downstairs together. It seemed as though all of our parents were awake. Narien and I separated as I went to go hug my father who was enjoying a cup of coffee.
"Good morning dear," he said as he pulled away from our hug. I was about to reply when my father's eyes focused in on my left shoulder. I covered the bite marks with my hands, turning my face away from my father... but it was too late.
A loud growl erupted from his vocal chords. All eyes were on my father, while his eyes had fixed in on Narien.
"Did you tell her what this means?" My father asked sharply.
I had to intervene. I grabbed my father by the shoulders and tried to get his attention. "Dad! Dad! I asked him to do it, okay? It's okay it's okay I promise!"
Erandius turned his head up towards his son. "Narien, I do hope you discussed in full detail to Amethia what you just did to her." His voice flowed out firmly but smoothly at the same time.
Narien's face flushed red. "O-Of course I did Dad!" He defended himself quickly, his face showing how embarrassed he was.
I looked to Narien with a glance of mild shock and amusement. When I saw the glint his eyes I knew that his smile earlier was because he wanted me to wear my hair up so that everyone, our parents included, would see what he'd claimed as his.
"Amethia," Kaeala's voice cut through the tense silence. "Did Narien explain everything to you?"
I nodded my head once. "He was very clear, I swear."
"Because this is a very serious thing that cannot be undone." She said gently. "You two are bound to one another now, you cannot leave."
"I'm aware," I spoke with determination. "I don't want to leave anymore. I'm scared, so so so scared... but I know that when I'm here, with Narien, I feel safe and... Right."
"You're allowed to be scared, darling." Kaeala then walked up to me and pulled me into a hug. Narien approached my father and they shared an awkward hand shake, but I knew my father was never disapproving of Narien.
"So... Can I start planning a wedding?" She whispered into my ear.
I laughed sheepishly. I nearly blurted out for her to plan one out as soon as possible but I stopped myself. "Maybe soon... For now I think we're both happy where we are." My eyes focused on Narien who now sat talking with his father and my father.
"Don't lie, you want to marry him tonight." She teased me with a squeeze of my arms.
I shook my head. She had no idea how over the moon happy I was with my ring that currently sat hiding on my chest. "I do want to have a big wedding, but I want the wait to be worth it." I said nonchelantly.
"Leave it to me darling." She said excitedly, walking away from me. "After all, we're family now!"
I smiled at this. Yes, that we were already. Our parents may not know about it yet, but eventually they'll see it become their reality too. I looked at Narien conversing with our fathers and smiled. He had the perfect Alpha support system. He knew exactly who he was and what he wanted. I was glad to have such a strong-willed person as my partner in life.
