02. Sunlight after the Storm

I woke up to the sound of my phone. It keeps on ringing and ringing. Who the hell is calling?

"What do you want?" I asked as soon as I picked up the phone call.

"Nao~ Let's meet today. I have something to discuss to you" a familiar happy voice.

"What is it editor Shin? Can we talk on the phone?" I asked her.

"It's a good news. I want to see your face when I say it. Okay I'll be waiting at Rin's place okay?" She said and ended the call.

I sit and blink my sleepy eyes. A soft light touches my skin coming from the window. It's too bright today. It's like the sun appears after the storm. I get up as I yawned. I wash up and prepare to leave. My usual routines, train and walk then here I am at the cafe.

"Morning" I greet Rin as I saw him talking to Shin.

"Morning my little Nao" Rin greets back and smile from ear to ear.

"Morning our rising writer" Shin greets me. I sit infront of her.

"What is it?" I asked as soon as I look at her.

"What's with the tone? Rin, can you make us coffee and some cake please" Shin said and smiles at Rin. Uh I can't with this couple. And now she's smiling like an i***t.

"Seems your book is selling well, why do you even work here?" Shin asked me.

"I want to be busy day and night to stop myself from thinking" I said as I look outside.

"Here it is" Rin said carrying a coffee and cake for us.

"Thank you" Shin said and smiles at him.

"Okay I let you two talk" Rin said and exited.

I sipped the coffee and it's too sweet.

"You see, you're book are getting attention and one of the entertainment company wants to used your book for the film?" Shin said that made me choked up.

"Wh-what?" I said as I place the coffee to the table.

"Oh I love your reaction" Shin said and giggles.

"And they asked for the copyright of the book" she said as she ate the cake.

"Is it okay to you? We will conduct the formal meeting if you said yes" She said and look at me.

"Well, it's okay. Tell me when is the meeting" I said and all I can see is how her eyes are sparkling.

"Really?" She asked.

"You don't want to?" I asked and chuckles.

"I would loved to. Your book are amazing although it's not finished yet or is it?" She asked.

"I didn't even know if it ends that way or if the story continues" I said and drink my coffee.

"Is it okay to show myself when I work as a mysterious writer?" I asked her.

"Well, it's up to you to show yourself" she said as she enjoying her cake.

"Well, you can meet with them. After the meeting discuss it to me and I'll show myself at the final meeting" I said.

"Oh okay sure" she agrees.

CUE Entertainment Co.

"Good morning" the secretary greets me with a smile.

"Good morning. Is he here?" I asked the secretary.

"Yes maam. I let him know" She said.

"Director Hisashi. Ms. Hitoshi are here to see you" the secretary said.

"Okay. Let her in" he said with his cold tone voice.

"Hello honey!" I greet him with my brightest smile but he's still the same.

"What is it?" He asked me with his cold tone voice.

"I'm here to eat lunch with you. And my father told me that you're looking for stories to produce and I know some of the novels that are really popular. Here" I said as I placed the paper bag on his table full of novels.

"Just place it there. Where do you want to eat?" He asked me with his usual cold tone voice.

"Hmm. Let me think on our way" I said. As he wear his coat. He's really handsome.

"Let's go" he said and I followed him. Although I know his doing this out of pity. It's okay. As long as he's mine.

We got into his car and drove. He brought me to my favorite restaurant. And he didn't even say a thing or pay attention to me. I'll be waiting as long as you want until you love me with all your heart.

"If you're looking for a real life like stories I recommend a book titled "Promise" it's a masterpiece. And one of the main character sounds like you" I said to break the awkwardness.

"Okay" He simply said.

"How's your Dad and mom?" I asked him again.

"Same as you last seen them" he answered silently eating the food.

"Are you finish?" He asked as he look at me coldly.

"Ah y-yeah" I said and he immediately stood up. I grabbed my bag and followed him.

He dropped me at the house.

"Bye. Take care" I said as I look to him.

"I will" he said and lightly smile. I blushed as he drove away. His smile keep on replay.

"It's rare to see him smile back at me" I sais and happily went inside the house.

"You're back Lady Saki" My made greets.

"You look happy" she commented.

"He smiled at me" I said to her as I hummed going up to my room.

AT CUE ENTERTAINMENT CO. OFFICE

I went back to my office when I drove her to her house. It's tiring listening to her nonstop babbling.

I loosened my necktie as I sat to my chair. I saw the paper bag full of her favorite novels.

"Secretary Matsuda come to my office and throw the garbage away" I said.

As I stood up to pick the paper bag other novels slip out of it. The handle removed into its bag. I picked it up and a novel catches my eyes. It's the book she mentioned earlier "Promise" is the title of the novel.

"I'll pick it up for you sir" my secretary said as she walks in. I stood up holding that one novel. The cover is catchy that you will wonder what the story is all about aside from the title of it as hint.

"Ah sir? Should I throw that one too?" She asked pertaining to the book I'm holding.

"No. Just send them back to Saki and tell her I picked what she wants and tell her I'm reading it" I said as I sat looking at the book.

"Okay sir" she said and went out of the office.

I open the book with a curious look. It became somehow familiar. The cover and all. As soon as I read it, my heart beat so fast as soon it became really familiar. Is it because it has a catchy phrases or cover?

"Secretary Matsuda" I called her and she immediately went inside the office.

"Yes sir?" She asked.

"Call the publishing house of this. And tell them we want to produce the story into film. Tell them I want to meet the author personally" I said as I gave her the book.

"Okay sir." She said and immediately went out to make the call.

I look out of the office thinking what I felt as I read every line on the first page. And it caught me as soon as I read it.

"It will make some profit" I said and smiled. But I don't know what this familiar feeling is.

"Sunny" I said as I remember the name of the author.
