Liora is the daughter of the Alpha of the White Creek Pack, a small, peaceful community that has lived in fear for generations. Their greatest fear? The Silver Crown Kingdom—a vast, powerful empire ruled by the legendary and terrifying King Draven. He is known as the Wolf of War, cruel, cold, and unstoppable. Years ago, his family was betrayed and killed, and he vanished during the great battle. Since then, no one has seen him, but his shadow still covers the land. One stormy night, while gathering herbs near the forbidden border, Liora finds a man lying in the mud, bleeding, badly wounded, and barely alive. He is handsome in a dangerous way, with golden eyes and an aura of power that makes her wolf tremble. She knows he is a stranger, possibly an enemy, but she cannot leave him to die. She hides him in an abandoned cottage deep in the woods and nurses him back to health. He tells her his name is Rian, a simple traveler running from trouble. As days turn into weeks, they grow close. Too close. They share stories, secrets, and dreams. Liora falls deeply in love with the gentle, protective man who heals her own loneliness. Rian loves her back—more than he thought possible—but he carries a heavy burden. He knows who he is, and he knows he must leave before his enemies find him and hurt her. One morning, he is gone. He leaves behind only a silver pendant shaped like a crescent moon—the symbol of the Royal Family—and a note: “I will never forget you. I am sorry.”Months pass. Liora tries to forget him, believing he was just a passing chapter in her life. Then, disaster strikes. The Silver Crown Kingdom declares war. Their massive army marches toward White Creek, and no one can stop them. Liora’s father prepares to fight and die to protect his people. But when the gates open and the enemy King steps forward... Liora’s world shatters.Standing tall, wearing the golden armor and the legendary Silver Crown, with eyes burning with power, is King Draven. It is Rian. The man she saved. The man she loved. Her greatest enemy. He spares her pack from destruction—but with one cruel condition: Liora belongs to him now. She is his prisoner, taken back to his grand, terrifying palace. To the world, he is the cold, ruthless King who conquered everything. To her, he is the liar who broke her heart. But as Liora lives in his palace—treated like a queen in public but kept locked away in private—she begins to see the truth behind the monster.Draven didn’t lie because he hated her. He lied because he loved her too much to drag her into his dark world. He is not cruel; he is protecting the world from an ancient darkness that is rising again. His family wasn’t just killed—they were murdered by the very leaders Liora’s father served years ago. And the most dangerous secret of all: Liora is the key to stopping the curse that will destroy them all. Now, trapped between war, betrayal, and a love that defies every law of their world, Liora must decide: hate the King who deceived her... or save the man she loves from becoming the monster everyone fears.

Chapter 1: THE STRANGER IN THE WOODS
The wind howled through the tall, ancient pine trees of the White Creek territory, carrying the biting cold of the approaching winter and the heavy scent of rain. Thunder rumbled loudly above, shaking the ground beneath Liora’s bare feet as she moved swiftly through the undergrowth, her cloak pulled tight around her shoulders to shield herself from the sudden storm. At twenty years old, Liora was the daughter of Alpha Corvin, leader of this small, quiet pack, yet she preferred the solitude of the forest over the crowded halls of her father’s home. While others her age trained for battle or dreamed of status and power, Liora spent her days studying the earth, the plants, and the healing magic that ran gently in her blood—a gift inherited from her mother, who had passed away years ago. White Creek was a peaceful place, hidden deep in the valley, but it lived under a long, heavy shadow. To the north, beyond the mist-covered mountains, lay the vast, terrifying empire known as the Silver Crown Kingdom. It was a land of powerful warriors, ancient magic, and werewolves of royal blood who were said to be stronger, faster, and more dangerous than any other pack in existence. Decades ago, there had been war and betrayal, and though peace had been maintained for years, fear still lingered in every heart. The Silver Crown was ruled by legends, and the most terrifying legend of all was their King—Draven, called the Wolf of War, a man whose name alone was enough to silence a room. He had vanished years ago during a great battle, believed dead, but no one in White Creek truly felt safe. Liora was far from the village now, near the forbidden border that her father strictly warned everyone never to approach. But she had heard rumors of a rare healing flower that only grew in this dangerous area, and she needed it to treat an elder who was suffering from a terrible fever. Just as she spotted the bright blue petals she was searching for, a loud crash echoed through the woods—like thunder, but different. It sounded like something heavy falling, or fighting. Her heart raced. Her senses, sharp as any werewolf’s, picked up the scent immediately: blood, iron, smoke, and… power. It was a scent she had never encountered before, rich and overwhelming, making her own wolf stir restlessly inside her chest, trembling with a mix of fear and strange, inexplicable reverence. Against every rule and instinct telling her to run back home, Liora followed the scent. She pushed through a thick wall of bushes and froze. Lying in the mud, half-buried under fallen branches and leaves, was a man. He was huge—tall, broad-shouldered, and dressed in dark, fine clothing that was torn and stained with crimson. His skin was pale, his hair dark as midnight, and he was bleeding heavily from deep gashes across his chest and shoulder. Even unconscious and battered, he looked like no ordinary man. There was a harsh, regal beauty to his face, strong jawline, and features carved by something greater than nature. But what caught her breath was the faint, shimmering silver fur visible on his arm where his sleeve had torn—proof that he was a werewolf, and not just any kind. That silver sheen belonged only to the Royal Line. He is one of them, she realized with a jolt of terror. One of the Silver Crown wolves. An enemy. She should leave him there. She should let the storm take him, or run to tell her father that a stranger had crossed their border. If anyone found him here, it would mean trouble—perhaps even war. But as she looked at his pale face, twisted in pain, her healer’s heart overruled her fear. She saw a man, not a monster. She saw someone dying, alone in the cold, just like anyone else. With a heavy sigh and a determined set to her jaw, Liora stepped forward. She couldn’t leave him. Kneeling beside him, she felt the heat radiating from his body, burning hot with fever and magic. When her hand accidentally brushed his, her skin tingled—a shock of electricity that made her gasp. He was powerful, dangerously so, yet when she looked closer, she saw a small, silver crescent moon pendant half-hidden under his shirt. It glowed faintly, pulsing like a heartbeat. “You are trouble,” she whispered to the unconscious man, her voice soft against the roar of the rain. “But I cannot let you die.” Summoning all her strength, she dragged his heavy body through the mud and trees, moving toward the abandoned hunting cottage deep in the woods—a place no one visited anymore. It was hidden, safe, and dry. She would hide him there. She would heal him. And once he was well enough, she would send him away, never to be seen again. She told herself it was only kindness, only duty. She didn’t know then that this single act of mercy would change her life forever, or that the stranger she was saving was not just a soldier or a traveler… but the King she had feared her whole life.
