CHAPTER 26A dark green Cadillac raced by a solitary sign posted beside the highway, on an open, rolling plain hemmed by a modest mountain range. The sign read: "Bonusville. Population: 631." Amy Gold drove while Bill Henry dozed. Both wore casual clothes. Gold decided to fight her own drowsiness by annoying her partner. "If you didn't want us to look like Feds right off, why didn't you get a different car?" Henry spoke without opening his eyes, "What's wrong with the car?"
