The office lights buzzed above me. My heels clicked against the tile as I walked toward the elevator, trying not to look behind me. Trying not to think about the way Adrian’s eyes had followed me all day, throwing me quick, hungry glances when no one else was looking. That hollow between my thighs ached just from the memory of them.
The office was almost empty now. After six, the floor always quieted, the glass walls cast long shadows in the fading city light. But I felt his presence behind me. I hadn’t heard his footsteps, but my skin prickled the way it always did when he was around me.
