PRETENDING To Be Her BOYFRIEND

Episode 7

"It is not a coincidence that Juan was missing a week after showing the pendant to the public" Nathan said in a video chat with one of the elders of the pack, Augustus Red.

He is one of the oldest werewolf in the pack and is entrusted with things going on in their world to keep order between them and the humans, aside from Nathan everyone hold him in high regard.

"I also find it strange that he went missing with the pendant" Augustus replied

"Who do you think will do such a thing?" Nathan asked

"Not a lot of us know about the pendant, to others it's just a old item" Augustus said with no clue

"Aside from you and me, who else knows about its power?"

"There are just five of us who knows about the power of the pendant but two are dead and one went missing with the battle against the ghost demon years back. Only I and Brandon left"

Uncle Brandon will never plot against the pack and Augustus isn't the type after powers which leaves them with no clue again

"I think you are getting overly sensitive, if anyone has kidnapped him for the purpose of the pendant, why hasn't the power been used on anyone in the pack by now?" Augustus point out

"Let's hope that's correct for now and keep your eyes on everyone in the pack especially the affluent society. Keep them all under control" he said hoping they are not wrong in their assumption

"I heard you left the affairs of the company to Doris, are you two finally settling down to be a couple?" Augustus teased changing the topic

"There is nothing of such, Jones handling both will be too much" Nathan quickly dissuaded his thoughts

"Why don't you spend more time on doing your duties well instead of joining in on the gossips" he added and Valentino approached him from behind oblivious to the fact that he is talking with someone.

"Thank you" Valentino said in a whisper, her rose perfume scent filling his nostril, she wrap her arms around with a gentle sniff

"Who is that young girl...?”

Nathan slam the laptop shut before Augustus could get a glimpse of her face and let out a short heave then place his hand over hers wondering what is wrong

"Did something happen?" He asked causing her to lift up her head to look at him

"I am just happy because of the car, it's the first time something will gift me something like this" she said with smiles in between her tears and I stood up to cuddle her

"It's what you deserve" Nathan said and pull her to a hug, he find her presence more pleasing as the day goes by and just want to keep her by his side longer.

"I am going to get my own driver's license now" she chuckles and that made him smile too

She runs into his arms the next second repeating the words thank you over and that make his heart flutter so he step away from her

"Let’s eat” Nathan said and pull her along with him to the dining table

Set with a light blue color and a white round chairs with silver plates, Henri served the dishes of pasta and steak for Nathan

"Mas...You have a message from Jonas" Henri informed him and immediately retreats

"I will take care of that later"

"Juan” Valentino called while taking a bite

“Miss Mary asked me for your new line so I gave it to her, did she contact you?” Valentino queried but Nathan is confused

“No she did not” he answered trying to figure out who this person is and how he knows her.

“She said the anniversary of the foundation is soon and wants to know if you will be able to attend this year too” she continued

“Too? Does that mean he has attended before?”

“I will think about it” Nathan said and quickly dismiss any further discussion on that.

He is more worried about the fact that he still hasn’t gotten a clue as to where Juan has disappeared to and wonder why he is not returning even after knowing someone else is impersonating him.

“I will go read the script now she said finishing her meal and plant a kiss on his cheek then head inside.

Nathan felt his wolf awaking and asking to be let out for a run, without much thinking he stood up the chair and bolt out to his room

I escaped through the window and run into the nearby bushes around the house, thankful it is located in a secluded area with just the house visible around

Nathan returned to the house late and found Valentino sleeping with the book placed on her face, he chuckles and carried her inside the room before exiting again to attend to some work and speak with Jonas.

“I have released the news like you said but there is still no sign of him, could it be that he really wants to disappear from the world?” Jonas said immediately the call connected.

What do you mean?” Nathan questioned

“It is said by his fans that he had issues a few months back and even got violent on a show, I will send you the video” Jonas answered and forwarded a video to him immediately

Nathan turned on the video which shows Juan on a television show where he got into an argument with one of the guest and hit him on the show…

“Wait a minute” Nathan said pausing the video

“Did you notice anything” Jonas asked.

“His eyes, the colors of his eyes changed for about a second” he said and played the video slowly

“That’s true” Jonas said also noticing the same thing.

“Find out if Juan has any connection with the pack or any pack close to us, find out everything you need to know about his birth before he became a celebrity” Nathan ordered but Jonas hesitated

“All there is to find about his life in the past is just the fact that he grew up in an orphanage” Jonas told indicating that everything else has been cleared by someone

“Let’s start with the orphanage then, I will also see to it from here” Nathan told him remembering that Valentino mentioned an event at the orphanage. He could use that to find out more.

“Tonight is the full moon, I should get to bed early” Jonas said but Nathan insist on continuing with their discussion

They spoke for another two hours as Jonas slowly brief him about everything going on in the pack and also in their company before he stood up to sleep.

As an alpha that controls fire, Nathan is used to staying awake every full moon night because of his inner heat and usually go for a hunt during times like that.

The recent coolness he felt whenever he is around Valentino made him wonder if she can also help with his sleeplessness.

He entered the room quietly and took his watch off then head to the bathroom to take a shower; a loud lightening strike outside and rain begin to pour outside heavily.

Nathan comes out of the bathroom with a robe wrapped around him and he approach the bed only to find Valentino at the edge about to fall to the ground, he took a quick step forward to hold her before she falls and heard a noise.

Valentino grind her teeth shivering with cold and rolled back to the other side of the bed creating some space for Nathan to climb on

He move closer to her and could hear her murmuring some words while shaking from cold, Nathan doesn’t if it’s because of the rain pouring but the bed is so cold that it felt like there are ice under.

"Valentino" he called tapping her gently to wake her up and saw the tears in her eyes

She flicked at his touch and cuddle closer to him in fear like a baby

"What's wrong?" Nathan queried again and continued to shake her awake but she deeply immersed in her nightmare and cries out loud the next second causing him to worry

"Help me" she begged and the word shook his heart.

" Open your eyes Valentino, you are safe here" Nathan persuaded anxious and draw her closer but she pushed him away

"I'm cold" she cried on

"Come here" he engulfed her in his arms despite her resistance and tries to calm her down.

She struggles for a few seconds then slowly gives up on struggling and held on him, like she had just find a new hiding place she glued her body to his

"What did you see? Do you feel warm now" Nathan queried curiously and tears of anguish filled her eyes

"I'm scared" she respond opening her eyes and immediately close them back.

"You will be fine, I am here with you" Nathan assured her and could feel the temperature of the room drop, he light up some fire to heat up the bed and room so she can be warm and took a long minute before falling asleep
