Valentino stretch forth a cup of coffee to Nathan who seems lost as he take a seat on the sofa and take a sip
'Too sweet'
Nathan drops the cup on the table unable to drink it, he wanted to call his assistant and ask him to find a way to get him out of here before whoever is coming arrives but he hesitate more curious to know why someone unrelated to him will look so much like him
"You seem lost” Valentino said jolting him out of his thoughts.
"Are you not leaving?" Nathan asked, she needs to leave so he can figure out things on his own and also find what he came here for
"I am not going to leave you alone again, who knows where you will disappear to after this, I will wait till they get here” Valentino replied watching him like a mother who wouldn’t let her child out of her sight
Nathan sighed realizing that he might not be getting out of this easily and decided to find out more about his lookalike before the others arrive.
Since she is his girlfriend then she might probably know where he kept the pendant he is searching for
"I guess our relationship just started"he said trying to get some information
"We have been dating for four years; you think that is not long enough?" She throws a glare at him and took a seat beside him.
“Do you lost your memories or are you playing tricks on me?” she questioned bewildered
"I was just kidding" Nathan quickly said to rectify himself.
"Do you really want to break up with me? Is that why you left? Is that why you are acting like this?" She throws several questions at him
Nathan is taken aback by her outburst and is lost of words; he thought their relationship should be blissful since they have been dating for years now but a breakup?
"I didn't mean it that way" he tried to explain not sure why he has to explain something he didn't do
"I really don't want to break up with you, I will forgive everything that has happened and won't dwell on it" she said calmly with tears in her eyes
Nathan is not sure why Juan would want to break up with her when it seems like he is the one at fault but is more confused that she is unwilling to break up
"Don't cry" Nathan is forced to say when he saw a tear rolled down her eyes and reached out his hand to wipe it off but a knock from the door made him stop.
They both turned towards the door and Valentino quickly wiped her tears then stood up to open the door
"Juan!" Stella charged towards him pushing Valentino out of the way and made to hug him but he put his hand forward to prevent her from coming closer
"I prefer a handshake" Nathan said watching her discomfited expression
Someone else comes inside the house and he looks quite surprised to see him there.
"You are here" he said and Nathan nods his head
Seems like no one really recognize that he is not the same person
"Are you hurt? Where did you run off to all by yourself?" Stella stepped forward again and tried to touch him but he avoided her and instead moved closer to Valentino.
"What is wrong with you?" Stella asked raising her voice and immediately comport herself
“He seems a bit lost” Valentino explained on his behalf and they calmed down and took a seat.
"Remember Stella, your manager and Mr. Winslow, the CEO of your company” she introduced to him sarcastically.
"I know" Nathan replied and noticed Stella's eyes is focused on him.
Silence fell on everyone in the room and Nathan didn’t fail to notice their cold attitude to Valentino, it seems like they don’t like her or want her there
"I will get you some coffee” Valentino said her tone and expression different from when she was alone with him
She left the room in an attempt to let them talk and stayed away for longer than usual
“What happened to you? You abandoned every work you had to cover last week and disappeared for a long time without a word; do you know how much your action has caused the company to lose in the past few days?”Winslow complained
"I had to sort something out" Nathan breathed wondering why he has to face all their nagging.
"I will have the reporters on our side release the news about your return so rumors can stop flying around" Winslow said as Valentino returned back with coffee for them
"If you didn't make a big deal out of it then we wouldn't need to deal with the police now" Stella lashed at Valentino revealing that she is the one who informed the police about Juan's disappearance
'They are no good people' Nathan concluded in his heart.
“Valentino, thank you so much for your help, we will handle things from here so you should leave before anyone sees you” Winslow said dismissing her
"I will take my leave” Valentino said and glanced at Nathan before making her way out of the house while Nathan looked on
“I need you to come up with a plausible story to tell the media and everyone and also ensure that you set work for him immediately. Let the director of his new movie also know that he is ready to start" Winslow said giving a series of instructions to Stella who stood up to get it done quickly
"You should get some rest tonight, your assistant quit after you disappeared but I already found someone else” Winslow informed him
"I will have him come over later with some food for you and update on your work for the week, you should also prepare to face the media soon" he continued and stood up from his seat to leave
"Make sure to cut off all your ties with her, I don't want any new rumors flying around again" Winslow added before he left and Nathan is left alone
"So this is it" he thought and stood up feeling a bit lost, he could tell that whoever Juan is must have a difficult life.
Nathan wondered how long he can stay away from the pack before returning back
Nathan stood up and made his way into the room he assumed is the master’s bedroom to continue searching; he is startled by the big poster on the wall and removed it
Once he gets his hand on the pendant then whatever happened between Juan and Valentino will no longer be his business nor will Juan's work.
Nathan turned the whole room upside trying to find the pendant for the next hour but didn't see anything that looks like it except a few old collections and money.
He went to search another room and continue to dig everything up to find it but his effort is futile, feeling restless Nathan took out his phone to put a call through to Jonas and walk toward the door
"Did you find it?”Jonas queried picking the call on the first ring
“I can’t find it anywhere” Nathan replied
“Do you need me to come over?” Jonas asked immediately alighting from the car
“You don’t have to; I found a way to stay here for a few days anyways I will just look more” Nathan said figuring that it’s best he stays as Juan instead of having to sneak back in again
“What if you get caught by others? You should stay at the hotel tonight” Jonas argued
“Make sure you get the correct information next time” Nathan warned him
Not only did they miss the fact that the person with the pendant is a lookalike but also the fact that the house is empty because he is missing.
“I tried to tell you about it but you were so busy with other important things” Jonas tried to explain but Nathan wasn’t having it and end the call
“Food is here” Nathan heard a familiar voice behind him and turned around to see Valentino holding a small bag in her hand
“I thought you left” he said surprised to see her not sure if she heard what he discussed on the phone
“I was worried you haven’t eaten anything all day and might have to stay hungry till tomorrow” she replied and walked further into the house to dish out the fruit salad
His face puckered as he watched her set the hideous meal in front of him and slowly pushed it away
“You can’t sleep on an empty stomach, you need to eat to regain your strength” Valentino said and placed the food in front of him again then went into the kitchen to get him some water.
“I already ate something before coming” Nathan insisted and stood up from the dinning while she watched him leave
Feeling suspicious, Valentino packed the plate and disposed the food in the kitchen before storming out of the house
