Chapter 8

Sebastian POV “Go to mate.” my wolf yelled in my head and I buried my head in my palms in response. I had a migraine and my wolf wasn't helping issues yelling about seeing that human over and over. What was I going to do with how he wanted to be in her presence all the goddamn time? “No.” I replied in my head but he just kept whining till my ears started ringing. I jammed the papers I had in my hand on the table, hugging in frustration when the door pushed open and Kael strolled in, biting down on an apple. His eyes landed on me and he let out a small chuckle as if enjoying the pain I was suffering. I had told Kael earlier about how my wolf wanted her, in so many ways. Some I couldn't even voice out but what he wanted the most was to always have her within eye range and that wasn't something I could do without raising suspicion in the pack. Claire was already on to me, yelling in my ear to fasten the pace of us finally bonding so she could assume her position as Luna but with Cassandra in the picture, that would likely not happen anymore. I just needed to break it to everyone but it would have been better if she were a wolf, an omega even would have been better. But a human? “It's amusing seeing you so disorganised for the first time in your life because of a human.” Kael said, laughing under his breath that I took a book from my table, throwing it at him. He dodged it cleanly, laughing louder than he was before. “What are you going to do about her though? Did she accept the phone?” “I have no Idea.” I ran my hand through my hair for the umpteenth time. “She returned the phone. Cynthia said she threw it in her face and threw a tantrum.” Kael looked confused and hummed “Do eat sound like that human girl but at the same time,it's possible.” He said in the chair opposite mine and took out some documents that were due for discussion with the elders. “so, here…” he continued when the doors slammed open and Claire stomped in. She looked furious. “I finally figured it out, you bastard. She looks like her.” The doors were still open and some maids who were walking around, froze to catch some gossip. “This is my cue.” Kael whistled, walking out of the room and closing the door behind him, leaving me alone to face her wrath. “What is it that you want, Claire? I said, rubbing my temples.” “She looks like her.” She repeated. I was about to ask her what the hell she meant when I finally realised what she was trying to let me know that she knew. “And?” I said, my voice taking a low tone as a dark undertone came over me. “And, that's why you have her here. You think because she looks like her, she would be her? You're gravely mistaken. She's gone. Dead!” she yelled and before I knew it, I was out of my chair, holding her neck in my hands tightly as I slammed her against the wall, slightly raising her off the floor. “Repeat what you just said.” I said with a growl and I could almost taste her fear. “I-I-” she choked out, her face turning red from the pressure I placed on her neck. Her hands flew to mine, clawing at me to let her go and I finally did, watching her fall to the ground on her knees as she went into a coughing fit. “How” she coughed. “How dare you.” she said, still coughing. She looked up at me with furious eyes and I just stared at her, no emotions on my face. “You need to watch your place, Claire. We are engaged but I'm still your Alpha. Know your place. Now, get out.” I said and she got off the floor but as she walked to the door I sniffed the air and my wolf spoke before I could think as if reading my thoughts. “Mate.” That was when I noticed that the door was slightly opened and dark hair moved as if a person was running away. I wondered what she heard or saw but whatever it was, hopefully she knows now not to mess with me. Claire turned around with one last defiant look. “You'll regret this.” I just raised a bored brow at her as she finally left. “ Mate. Mate.” my wolf chanted in my head that I walked to bang my head against the wall. I didn't want to see her. She annoyed me to no end whenever I was in her presence and who knows for how long I would be able to control myself? I was back behind my desk, working a way when Kael strolled back in. “I guess you handled the situation properly?” he commented and I just gave him a look. “That bad?” And I sighed, rubbing my temples again. What did the moon goddess want from me to torture me this way? “The elders sent a letter. They want to have a meeting with you. I guess everyone is just as curious to know why a human is in our pack.” “What the f**k does everyone want from me?” I yelled, banging my hand on the table. “Calm down, Seb. Everything will work out.” Kael comforted me but at this point, I wasn't sure how true his words were. Just then, I heard noise from outside as the pack alarms went off. My doors were pushed open as a guard took a bow and looked at me, scared. “Someone has breached the walls, Alpha.” “Damnit.” I immediately got out of my seat and ran to her room. I didn't know why but I just knew I had to check on her first and just as I suspected when I slammed the doors open, it was empty. Her room was f*****g empty. I then turned around and ran out of the building, with my immense strength. The guards outside were still trying to figure out where the person had passed to breach security. “She couldn't have gone that far! Find her and bring her to me.” I yelled out loud and everyone stared at me in shock at my reaction to her disappearance. “Cassandra, when I catch you… You'll regret what you just did.” I said under my breath, anger fueling my veins.
