Chapter 9

1093 Words
Cassandra’s POV I couldn't believe that I did it. I escaped. I ran through the woods, trying to get to the main express. If I could find someone to hitch a ride with, I would be finally free. After Claire had barged into my room and questioned my looks, she stormed off and I knew just where she was going so I followed her. She didn't notice me though. When I finally got to where she was going, I noticed that it was Sebastian's office. They yelled at each other for a while and what finally made me conclude to escape was when he grabbed her roughly, slamming her against the wall when she mentioned that a lady they kept going on and off about was dead. That seemed to have pissed him off to no end because I began to feel as though he wanted to kill her right there and the.His blood list seeped from every corner of that room. He let her go though and with her walking away from him, I knew I had to take my chances so I ran back to my room and began to plot my escape. The room window was too high to jump from considering that they lived in a f*****g sky scraper so I did the only other wise thing to do. I walked right out of my room. I didn't have the full clothes to dress as a maid to sneak out, so I wore what I had, walking over to the closet and pulling out a white tee and dark jeans with my boots. I threw my hair into a ponytail and stepped out of the room. It was a plus that everyone seemed bummed out by my presence that they chose to not approach me. That was till the guard from the other day spotted me from afar and I knew I had to run. He knew firsthand how Seb didn't want me interacting with anyone or leaving my room without permission and from my darting eyes, he could tell it was without permission. I pushed past people as I tried to escape him. He then began to yell “Stop, she shouldn't escape.” The people around chose to ignore him; they could smell me. Human… So I was insignificant. That was till I swiped an entrance card from an unsuspecting guard and ran out of the building and into the streets. The streets were so busy that I lost the guard in the crowd. I walked over to the check in point and just as a guard watched me nervously and about to question me, I kneed him and used the stolen card to exit the pack, running deep into the woods. It didn't take a minute for their alarms to blast in the whole park alerting them of someone breaching their codes. My legs carried me as fast as they could even if exhaustion filled my bones. I could finally see the trees getting fewer and I knew I was closer to the road. Relief and joy filled me but just as I was about to reach the main expressway, a body slammed into mine, pushing me to the ground and air escaped my lungs as I groaned in pain. My vision blurred and I could barely move. “Well, well, well. What do we have here?” A voice cackled. “A human? Is that what I smell? In werewolf territory?” he commented, his hand wrapping around my ankle as he dragged me away. The ground roughly scratched my face as the twigs tore through my skin. I tried to get my leg out of his hold but all my attempts were futile. “Let me go.” I muttered weakly but he must have not heard me. My vision got worse and I knew I was losing consciousness and I couldn't afford to so I did the only thing I could think of. I took off the bracelet that I had on my wrist and let it fall to the floor. If Sebastian really cared for me or his wolf, he would look for me right? Even if I chose to run a way of my own accord. Right? Darkness consumed me. — My left eye opened with a start and everywhere hurt so badly. I tried to move but I couldn't and that was when I realised that I was tied firmly to a chair with ropes that stung every time I moved. My mouth was gagged with a cloth and my right eye was swollen shut. I must have gotten injured from being dragged across the floor. “You're awake. How lovely of you to finally come around.” A man said and he finally came into view as I took his presence in. “ Nice to meet you, little one. I'm Sibaris.” he said, smirking wickedly at me that my stomach churned. I tried to speak, forgetting that I was gagged and all that came out were muffled groans. “Oh, my bad. I forgot I had you unable to speak for a second.” He reached out and I flinched as he grabbed the gag and pulled it out from my mouth, throwing it to the side and roughly grabbing my face that my wound stung when he touched them. “What were you saying again?” he said, placing his ear close to my mouth with a wicked smile on his face. “What do you want from me?” struggled to get out and he threw his head back, laughing manically and that was when I noticed the other around him who came out of nowhere, laughing too. “Well, for starters. You look beautiful. Or you did.” he said in a low tone, picking at his lips and my blood ran cold in fear. “Oh. She froze up.” he said to the others and they burst out laughing again. He leaned in and traced his finger down my face till it got to my neck. “Secondly, Humans sell really well in the black market and guess who has not been having sales since that Bastard Lycan added more rules to the system? Come on? Guess.” I clamped my mouth shut, not saying anything and he didn't seem to like that because he frowned. “Sibce you're too rude to answer, I'll tell you.” He pulled away from me and with disgust on his face, he spoke. “Me.”
