CHAPTER 14
The weeks passed swiftly with so much to plan, and on the first Saturday of Spring Break, at four in the afternoon, a large group of people converged on Victor and Caroline’s house: First Sophie arrived, with Brett and their children, then Michael and Sheridan, wearing matching gold bands. Sheridan—also expecting—was due only a week after Caroline, though her belly was considerably smaller.
Maggie brought Jan, whose fiancé visa had finally been approved. Selene arrived at the same time as them, along with her husband Brandon, holding hands and generally behaving like the newlyweds they were, their infant son cradled against his father’s shoulder.
