Chapter 18

641 Words
Ryder’s POV She’s handling this pack life better than I could think, but the pack has been hard on her since she showed herself the day she left. Some think it is wrong for a bitten wolf to be a Luna and others love her. ‘Enough with your disrespect!’ I growled to my pack who all bowed. We smelt something good, but didn’t make a move to see what it was in fear it would go away, but then we got a link. ‘If you are hungry, line up outside the house. Kids first; then elders; then women; and last men.’ Rachel linked us. ‘That is an order and if you disobey you will be punished by me.’ Rachel said in a threatening tone. ‘Yes Luna.’ Everyone including me muttered. ‘Ryder let the humans know food is ready.’ Rachel linked me. I turned to the humans who looked confused why everyone was putting things away. “Wash up! Food is ready!” I yelled. The pups all ran inside and washed up then lined up as their Luna told them. The elders were next then women and last was the men. Since I was Alpha I decided to go last out of respect to my pack. ~~ After an hour we all were sitting outside eating together. Rachel was done eating as she wasn’t hungry. “Tell me, what does it look like in heaven? Is it peaceful? Is it free like they say? Does the sun shine bright forever? Have your fears and your pain gone away? 'Cause here on earth it feels like everything good is missing since you left And here on earth everything's different There's an emptiness Oh-oh, I I hope you're dancing in the sky And I hope you're singing in the angels' choir And I hope the angels know what they have I'll bet it's so nice up in heaven since you've arrived So tell me, what do you do up in heaven? Are your days filled with love and light? Is there music? Is there art and invention? Tell me are you happy? Are you more alive? 'Cause here on earth it feels like everything good is missing since you left And here on earth everything's different, there's an emptiness Oh-oh, I I hope you're dancing in the sky And I hope you're singing in the angels' choir And I hope the angels know what they have I'll bet it's so nice up in heaven since you've arrived Since you've arrived I hope you're dancing in the sky And I hope you're singing in the angels' choir And I hope the angels know what they have I'll bet it's so nice up in heaven since you've arrived Since you've arrived Tell me what does it look like in heaven Is it peaceful? Is it free like they say?” Rachel sang. Everyone started clapping when she was done. “Where did you learn how to sing like that?” I asked her. “The girls couldn’t fall asleep without me singing when they were babies.” She whispered. “Sing something else.” Maddy said. “Another day. We have to get back to work.” Rachel said, looking away from everyone. “Thank you.” Everyone said. ‘Thank you Luna.’ The pack linked her. ‘Your welcome. Help the humans with the load and don’t show how fast you are.’ She told everyone. ‘Yes Luna.’ They said and got up. The Omegas grabbed all the plates and went inside to clean up. I smiled as Rachel looked at the pack with tears in her eyes. ‘Don’t talk to her right now. She’s sad and needs a second alone.’ Xander told me as he was watching his sister. The girls were helping everyone with the buildings.
