Rachel’s POV
I was driving for hours now and not even far enough from the town yet.
‘Rachel.’ I heard Jackson in our link.
I sighed and decided to pull over. Everyone was asleep so I could drive off if something happened.
‘Jackson I’m not safe yet. What’s wrong?’ I asked.
‘Your friend was here. They know we are related. T-They said they will kill me.’ He told me.
I got out of the truck and hit the back of the tailgate. I cursed softly as I thought about what to do.
‘Did they threaten you if you get off the land?’ I asked.
‘Yes.’ He said.
‘Let me think.’ I told him.
‘Your brother wants to talk to you.’ Jackson told me softly.
‘Tell him to give me a second to think.’ I told him.
I heard a groan, but I didn’t care as I didn’t care right now. I looked at my sister and the girl who I brought.
‘The girl you have is the sister of The Boss.’ I heard Xander whisper.
I cursed softly and sighed.
‘Okay, stay there and do not move at all. I need a couple days to think about what I’m going to do. Protect the pack at all costs. I will get protection for them. As for you; you’ve wronged more than one person.’ I told him.
‘I can fight for myself, but not thousands of wolves.’ He told me.
‘I will handle the rest; just go into the room I was staying in and grab the duffle bag from under the bed.’ I linked him and jumped into the truck.
I took off not caring if anyone was around. I saw the girl awake.
‘WHAT THE f**k DO YOU HAVE GUNS IN THE HOUSE!’ I heard Ryder yell in my head.
I growled lowly as I swerved and almost hit another car.
‘Ryder! I’m driving!’ I linked him as I got back on the road the right way.
He growled at me, but didn’t say anything. I noticed a car following us so I sighed.
“Do you have any tracking devices in or on you?” I asked the girl.
“Yes in my neck.” She told me.
“Maddy, wake up!” I whispered, yelled.
She sighed as she woke up and checked on her sleeping twin. I motioned for her to come close.
“You need to grab my knife and cut her neck. Grab the tracking device just like I taught you and throw it out.” I told her.
She nodded and grabbed a knife. I took a dirt road as I needed to get this car off my ass.
“WAIT NO!” The girl yelled.
“Do you really want to go back to your brother and be his little toy to play with for himself and other men?” I asked.
“N-No.” She whispered.
“Then you better do as told.” I said.
She sighed and nodded. Maddy quickly got to work and made sure that the girl was stitched up and asked if she has it anywhere else; which she happened to have three others one under her tooth, one in her back and the last one was in her hand which was the hardest to get out since it had the most veins.
“Throw them out; now!” I said.
Maddy did as told and threw all of them out as we turned left making me crush them since she was sitting behind me.
I took a right into the town we were about to reach and parked in a parking garage and saw the truck my friend left for me.
“Grab the girls and put them in the other truck.” I said.
She nodded and grabbed Milly who was still asleep. I transferred my bike to the other truck and grabbed our bags.
I took off seeing the car pull in as we pulled out. I had a sunglass covering my face and the girl had a blanket covered over her like she was sleeping.
“What is your name?” I asked the girl.
“Hannah.” She whispered.
“Hannah, if you do as I say you can be safe somewhere in a couple towns over as your brother will look for you. You cannot get a job at all so you will be living with my friend who owes me a couple favors. You will be like their maid or live-in nanny. You will never get out of the house at all as your brother will never stop looking for you.” I told her.
“Anything, to never go back to them.” Shee told me.
“Hey, just know that your father wasn’t as bad as your brother. Now he had something happen to him nobody knows, not even his closest friends, but I know as I was with him.” I told her.
“I know. He told me never to ask about it.” She told me.
“Hannah please understand that what your brother does isn’t to hurt you or me. He does it as punishment to himself for what happened all those years ago.” I told her.
She nodded and laid down. I saw that the girls were asleep.
‘Hey Jackson, do you know if my blood can heal someone?’ I linked Jackson.
‘To some point. If you know how to do it.’ He told me.
‘How?’ I asked, looking over at the girl who looked weak.
‘Well; you will have to understand that this is something that can never be taken back. If you do this you are bound to this human or wolf or vampire for life and you can never be separated at all even if it is for the best.’ He told me.
I cursed, but didn’t say anything.
‘What can I do if the girl is weak?’ I asked him.
‘How weak?’ He asked.
‘She might not live another night.’ I told him.
‘You can either change her and have her sired to you or kill her peacefully. Your blood can heal some things, but I do not know if it can do it. Bite your hand and draw blood then have her suck on your hand.’ He told me.
I did as told as I kept one hand on the steering wheel. Hannah sucked on my hand as she was weak. After a few seconds I felt my hand healed so she ended up falling back to sleep.
‘Now what? She fell asleep.’ I said.
‘Whatever happens you have to keep her away from the girls.’ He told me.
‘I’m coming home after I stop by to see a friend.’ I told her.
‘Okay.’ He whispered.
‘Jackson; understand everything that I’m doing is for the good. I f****d up when I didn’t ask this girl who she was, but I will fix it for you.’ I told him.
‘I know.’ He whispered.
‘I’m sorry I entered your life like this and made it go bad. I need to focus on the road.’ I told him and cut the link.
I sighed as I drove past another town.
