I had been staring at my reflection for five minutes now. I was able to get into the club with my employee keys. The club was desolate as expected. I had gotten into the clothing room that was next door from the dressing rooms and picked out a sparkly white mesh crop top with a matching flowy bottom. I had to put on a white bra and a white high rise hipster underwear. My feet had found themselves in clear performance stilettos. Looking at myself in the mirror I groaned at the outfit and felt out of place. My cleavage was exposed as the mesh sat on top of them. I turned around looking over my shoulder and saw that my bottom half of my bum was exposed too. What was even the point of the skirt? Or any part of this outfit? I began to hyperventilate doubting myself once again. Being around these dancers, yes they taught me how to walk in heels, how to dress, gave me a few tricks to pole dancing, but I wasn't them. I wasn't bold enough. I am a stupid girl who lost her job and make the people around me suffer because of my mistakes. I was going to save this club but also demand respect, by dancing partially naked in a room of paying men. Ironic. I shook the negative thoughts from my mind and began to reassure myself. Think of this of your ballet recitals, just with a pole. Calm and graceful, but now add sexy into the mix. I began practicing in the mirror, I stepped back and gently swayed my hips to the song I hummed.       The time raced by. I didn't realize it until I heard the voices of the other girls and Zeke echo through the club. Quickly I got into the closet that the dressing had and closed the door leaving it open just a smidge. All the girls have walked into the dressing rooms with their natural looks. I loved seeing them without makeup, but it was a rare occasion that they never let me engage in. They dropped their bags in front of their assigned mirror. Unlike them, the girls were silent and lacked their vibrant personalities that I adored. After a few minutes of standing in the dark, Zeke arrived in the dressing room taking in a deep breath. "Alright ladies, this our last chance to impress Mr. Ace. He'll be in the main performance room, so I want every single one of you to put on your best dances. Get up there and dance naked if you have to. Just-" Henna who had been sitting down in front of her mirror stood up abruptly and walked up to Zeke. "We aren't doing s**t Zeke. You said that you would look after us, but then you fired Raina for a guy assaulting her!" Henna turned away from Zeke and sat back down in front of her mirror pulling out her phone. All of the ladies did the same, their form of protest made me smile in the darkness of the closet. "How about you go find other dancers? While we have the time of our lives at the dance club" Sugar stood up abruptly along with the other dancers. "Sebastian is here! Cut the bullshit!-" Zeke said as he chased after the girls as they pushed passed him leaving the dressing room. I stepped out of the closet and took a deep breath. I stole another glance at myself in the mirror, I brushed my skirt down and swallowed hard. I inhaled sharply before stepping out of the dressing room.       I walked down the hallway leading to the backstage. There were a few steps bringing me up to the same level as the stage. The musical technician as we call him, had a set up back stage where he controlled the music for the entire club. I approached him as he sat with black headphones on his neck. He took a quick glance at me then looked back down, He snapped his neck up and blinked a few times "Raina?! Woah, you look-" his mouth hung open losing his words and I smiled shaking my head feeling a sudden blush come to my face. Did I look that different? "Hey Drisco, I was wondering if you could put on a song for me?" I asked, Drisco was two years older than me. I had a slight crush on him. He was so nonchalant and sweet, and had an impressive knowledge on music and the variety of it. He had dark brown skin and deep brown eyes that caught me off guard every time. "A song? You're a server Ray. Zeke didn't tell me about you performing" My heart began to beat nervously in my chest. I pressed lips together and let out a highly strung laugh waving my hand dismissing his statement "Yeah, it was supposed to be a surprise. For...uh...Mr.Ace" I responded, Drisco popped up his eyebrows slightly surprised but he didn't protest any longer, he nodded softly before turning back to his computer "Alright Ray, what song do you desire?" He asked with a smirk, my heart relaxed and I smiled at him before turning my attention to the stage. The stage had a digital backdrop which Drisco also controlled, he was able to change the colors or add any kind of lighting effect. The stage had multiple poles that stood a few feet away from each other. Then there was a bridge connecting to a single platform that sat in the middle of the audience. The showroom only had two inhabitants, I bit my upper lip and looked over my shoulder to Drisco who waited for my song choice "To Die For by Sam Smith-" Drisco nodded at my song choice, "Slow and sexy, you're up Ray.." He said, grabbing the microphone to announce my entrance, "Drisco?" I said, I turned away from him and took a deep breath "Call me Dazzle.." I swallowed hard and bit my upper lip calming my nerves. I closed my eyes and squeezed my palms shut, clenching them into a fist. "Gentlemen, introducing Dazzle to the stage" Drisco said into the microphone.        The show room filled with faint applause as I walked out. My fists relaxed and I took a deep breath before walking up to the gold stained pole. I let out a deep breath as I touched the golden rod and slowly walked around it, my body turned and pressed my back against the pole sliding it down slowly moving my hips along with the music getting a few seductive whistles from the few men who watched. I threw my head back and traced my hands up from my thighs bringing up my skirt slightly and up to my breasts giving them a slight squeeze. "Yeah!" A man hollored, I bit my bottom lip and brought my head to face the audience. Zeke stood there stunned along with the dancers who had confused expressions on their faces but mostly shock could be seen on their faces. I did a body roll off of the pole and turned around to grab onto it and hook my leg around the pole and threw my head back before pushing myself off of the ground and sending my body to twirl around the pole. I couldn't believe it actually worked. More men  seemed to be sitting in the audience, intrigued by my performance. I was flattered and it definitely gave me a confidence boost, but I focused on a single man who made his way over to sit down in front getting a full view of me. Sebastian f*****g Ace.                                                                                                       Sebastian Ace       "I fired her Sebastian, there should be no conflict" Zeke pleaded. A soft scoff escaped my lips, I did not want to entertain this any longer. My signature was a parting contract, my ties to this place had been severed. I stood up buttoning up my suit "Your employee disrespected me, twice. God knows what other inept children you have running around here" I snapped, my patience was wearing down. Zeke jumped up from behind his desk and looked at me with desperation all over his face. A sigh escaped my lips and I turned away from him "You should be grateful I don't burn this place to the ground" I did a sharp turn away from him and walked out of his office. Two men who had normally escorted me to wherever I went were gone. I raised my eyebrow and walked down the steps. I pinched the bridge of my nose as more of my men were nowhere to be in sight. I was paying these ruffians to stand around and still they can't even comprehend how to do that. "Sebastian please wait!" Zeke screamed, chasing after me. A roll came to my eyes, girls who I had normally seen with over the top makeup stood to the side on their phones. A chuckle escaped my lips seeing the lack of control this man had on this place ``This place is embarrassing.." I hissed, I walked past the ladies, my body halted in front of the main showroom. Zeke had tugged onto the sleeve of my suit causing me to turn around sharply. "Are you f*****g mental?" I spat, I didn't give anyone permission to touch me. If they did, a bullet was met to their brains. I opened my mouth to curse out this desperate dog but his attention was no longer focused on me. I turned towards the showroom and all of my men and fellow partners had been sitting down indulging themselves on the show that had been put on. "What is she doing?" I heard one of the dancers ask. My eyes slowly wandered up her bare legs, her torso, her exposed chest, and then finally her face. The same child who spilled drinks on me and claimed it was an accident then purposefully assaulting me with the same kind of drink a day later. The same girl I presumed to be a fired bartender was elegantly but seductively spinning around on the pole, making all the c***s in the showroom rock solid. "I'm going to get her down from there," Zeke said to one of the dancers as he took a step into the showroom. I unbuttoned my suit and extended my arm in front of Zeke, stopping him. "No," I said firmly. I made my way into the showroom without taking my eyes off of her. She had been known of my presence as she stared right into my eyes. I took a seat in the front, making sure I got a full view of her. Watching her perfectly execute the pole with sexiness took my mind to ungodly places. The attracted more and more sexually excited men as she got onto the ground on all fours arching her back. I cleared my throat and looked away from her.        My interest in this girl was unhealthy and inappropriate. After placing that drink on her kitchen counter. My intentions were to kill her after sending her that message. It was my plan to have my men shoot her while she stared at the glass, but I couldn't get her out of my mind. Men threw themselves and their cashed paychecks at the girl as she slowly strutted to a bridge that was connected to a single platform with a pole in the middle of the showroom. Her eyes locked with mine as she strutted around the pole running her fingers through her hair, then down her exposed body. She turned her back towards me and lowered herself into a squat. It drove the men crazy, throwing all that they all towards her. The atmosphere was filled with money and s****l aggravation. She bent over giving me a full view of what she had underneath her revealing skirt, I put my hand over my mouth and leaned forward catching a quick glimpse of her p***y lips pressing against her white panties. She brought her body back up and turned around to face me, it was like she just danced just for me. Keeping her eye contact as her body twirled effortlessly around the pole. A sudden tightness in my pants made me shift uncomfortably in my seat. My jaw tightened and I stood up abruptly buttoning my suit back up, I turned away sharply, and walked out of the show room then right out of the club.                                                                                                              Raina Foster       Their applause and screams of excitement followed me as I exited off of the stage. I went back into the dressing room out of breath, I was sweating horrendously. I released my hair from the high ponytail that was cutting off my circulation. My hair fell down to my shoulders and I massaged my scalp, I stared at my reflection in the mirror. I couldn't help but feel insecure after watching Mr. Ace leave abruptly like that. Everyone seemed to like my performance. Maybe he didn't. Maybe I did nothing but embarrass myself, and everyone was just watching a helpless young girl leap around the stage like an i***t. "HOLY s**t RAINA!" Sugar said exclaiming as she walked into the dressing room, I turned around to see her and the other dancers flood in. A nervous smile came to my lips as Sugar pulled me into a tight hug. "Was I good?" I asked her,she pulled away from me dropping her jaw open and looked at the other dancers before back at me "Raina, that was f*****g amazing. No one else has been ever to completely fill up the showroom like that. Let alone bring in all that cash in one performance" she said, she laughed softly while looking me up and down. I looked at the rest of the dancers as they all had approval and shock all over their faces. "That was f*****g beautiful Ray, or should I call you Dazzle?" Henna said emerging from the crowd of dancers. I giggled, as they embraced me into a hug. This is what I missed, and what I needed. Their warmth and love. "Ladies let me have a word with Raina" slowly the girls pulled away from me hearing Zeke's request. The girls didn't budge at all eyeing down Zeke coldly. "It's okay, I want to talk" I said softly, I smiled at the girls as they looked back at me. "Are you sure?" Henna asked, touching my shoulder, I nodded and she planted a kiss on my forehead before they all slowly left me and Zeke in the room.        "Sit down.." he said, pulling out a director's chair. I sighed softly before making my way over to sit down in the chair. I sat in front of my reflection, I chewed at my bottom lip nervously waiting for his wrath. Zeke searched the room until he came back and dropped down a pack of makeup remover wipes in front of me. He slipped one out and turned towards me. He brought his pointer finger to lift up my chin and he began with my eyes slowly wiping away a morning's worth of hard work and steadiness. "I fired you after you disrespected my most high paying customer and investor . Then you come, dance, causing an uproar in this club. You're like a cockroach that won't die" Zeke threw down the wipe filled with makeup and grabbed a new one from the pack stripping my face from any trace of makeup. His face was stone cold, I couldn't see any emotion behind his eyes. "You got up there and danced, demanding the respect of every single man in that room. Including Mr. Ace. He probably couldn't handle it and left" Zeke turned me away from the mirror to face him. His eyes were filled with love and when his lips curled into a smile it made tears gather in my eyes. "I am so proud of you. I thought you were some ignorant child, but when you got up there you showed me that despite you being eighteen, that you are a grown women that should be taken seriously" My bottom lip trembled at his words, tears streamed down my cheeks as Zeke squeezed my shoulders "Does that mean I can have my job back?" I asked with a slight smile on my face. Zeke nodded pulling me into a tight hug caressing the back of my head "You will be a server, you're too powerful to be up there.I love you Raina" he whispered, I closed my eyes and wrapped my arms around Zeke smiling into his embrace. "I love you too"        After getting dressed back into my normal clothes, I served drinks once again. The men in the club were requesting for a private dance from Dazzle but Zeke firmly refused. A few hours had passed, and even though we had lost Mr. Ace's investment, we still had a good amount of men coming in. After closing I sat on the stage with Sugar who's real name was Carolina. We had been cleaning shining stilettos and counting the money she had brought in from her dance. "Girl, you were so sexy. I'm pretty sure Mr. Ace even got aroused from your cheeky dance" Carolina said nudging me playfully. I wiped down the heel of a stiletto with shining polish making them shine once again. "I did not, he left while I was dancing. That should say enough '' self doubt lingered in my voice as I sighed dropping the heel into my lap and looking at Sugar who had been separating her dollar bills. She looked up at me and shook her head "Mr. Ace is a busy man, he probably had to be somewhere else" I shook my head scoffing and rolled my eyes at Sugar's response. He didn't even look entertained. His face was emotionless and he stared at me with dead eyes. He told me that my existence didn't matter, I finally danced for him and he had the audacity to leave. The nerve of that man! I tossed the heel onto the stage and annoyance had overwhelmed me and Sugar caught wind of that. "He is so infuriating and disgusting. What does he even do? Some kind of leader in an Italian Mafia? He probably shoots people for living, sells cocaine, and promotes prostitution!" I crossed my arms over my chest and let out an aggravated sigh. The room was silent until Sugar exploded with laughter, I looked at her with an annoyed expression and she shook her head at me holding up her hand. "Honey, you watch too many movies. The only thing accurate in your sentence was Italian" I stared at Sugar with a blank expression as she drowned in laughter. As soon as she calmed herself down and wiped her imaginary tears away she looked at me "Mr. Ace invests in small businesses and builds them up. His father passed down this huge trading empire of a business to him, and he has partnerships all over the word. For your overactive imagination, he's Puerto Rican and Italian" Sugar said smirking at me. She went back to counting her money and I rolled my eyes. Is that why he is so entitled? Everything's probably been handed to him? He is such an egotistical maniac. "For example Ray, he owns this strip joint, the dance club next door, a high end fashion store in Brooklyn, that makeup store on high street, the winery-" I shot my head up at her words and stopped her "Woah, wait. The beauty store on high street?-" I asked, Sugar nodded her head at me continuing to count her money "The beauty store next to that super expensive restaurant with the dolphin fountain?" I asked her, She nodded her head and suddenly I was taken back to that night. Why were the employees acting so weird? As if, afraid of something. It was him, it had to be. I pressed my lips together looking away from Sugar as I began to drown in my thoughts. Why was he following me?
