Marius smiled. He looked happy. “I like that.”
I smiled too. “It’s better than Frost Wood.”
He laughed.
This was part of my role in the Howling Echo pack. Lucien was not good with people, so I helped when things got tense. Right now, I could see he was thinking a lot about what just happened.
“We need to unload before it gets dark,” Lucien said. He gave Marius a last fist bump. “You know how to reach me.”
Marius started taking off his clothes. We turned away while he packed them into his bag. Soon after, he changed into a gray wolf and ran into the forest.
“Our turn,” Lucien said.
We threw our clothes into the truck and got ready. I sent a quick message to Cassius, telling him we were going for a run. Then I left my phone with my clothes.
We changed into wolves and ran out together
