Chapter 26 - Breakfast

Breakfast was served to everyone else—me included—after Dave was halfway through his mountain of food. I couldn’t take my eyes off his fork as he scooped up bite after bite. He gulped it down like it was nothing. Like he was throwing it down a blackhole and he just needed to keep feeding it.  At the same time though, he was graceful in his movements. Savage met aristocrat and I really didn’t know what to make of that.  The room fell silent except for the scrapes of silverware. The plate in front of me was untouched. I looked down at the food. My mouth watered as the smell of the bacon wafted under my nose.
