 It wasn’t long before the twins came rushing to the table. They threw the chairs back and slumped into them. They barely gave me a nod of acknowledgment before they started hounding Joey and Tabby about where the food was. I leaned back away from the table, trying to make myself as invisible as possible. Tabby wasn’t taking any of the twins nagging and swatted one of the twin’s hands when they got too close. They were trying to get to the muffins Joey had just pulled from the oven. He was frying eggs at the same time as Tabby made the bacon. She was through the third bag of bacon when the twins straightened in their seats.
