Chapter Sixteen A bullet wound was something she recognised straight off. She saw it often enough. Hunters, not skilled at killing, leave the wounded animal to die a painful death. Not willing or caring enough to tack it down and end its pain. It was a lazy, disgusting thing to do. ‘That wound has been festering for days.’ ‘How can you tell?’ His gaze was intense.
