Cadi’s POV
“Seven days!!!” Adam roared at the man in the room that I didn’t know, “why the hell hasn’t her heat started?”
The aging man hung his head, “Alpha, a she-wolf's heat is unpredictable, especially with stress and wolfbane involved.”
Adam paced the room, “I don’t want excuses! I want what I was promised. Examine her, make sure nothing else is going on, then come and find me.”
Ok, so now I knew he was a doctor. I didn’t recognise him from the Red River pack, so he mustn’t be there. What scared me more is that the Doctor called him Alpha. This was not good. I had been in and out of it the past seven days. Adam had lowered my dose of wolfsbane, so I was conscious more, but it had still been enough to keep me in a weakened state and disconnected from my wolf. I missed her terribly.
