CHAPTER THREE Flora's POV “Are you kidding me?” I thundered, looking directly into his eyes. “Will you calm down and let me talk?” He asked in a husky voice. “You don't even know me from anywhere neither do I and now,you want me to marry you? You must be joking.” I said, fuming with anger . “This is for the benefit of the both of us,Flora.” He responded in a calm tone. “So,can you be this calm?” I scuffed. “This is a serious matter.” He said. “How will it benefit the both of us?” I asked him, attentively. “My father wants to force me into getting married and I don't want to and that's why I thought of getting married with someone I can make a contract with.” He said. “So,how does this concern me?” I asked, still not understanding my part in this whole story. “I know your grandma is sick and if you agree to marry me for just 2 years before we terminate the contract,I'll take care of your grandmother's bill till she's fit enough to leave the hospital.” He said. “Who told you my grandma is sick?” I asked, confusingly. “Does that even matter now? You have what I need and I have what you need. Let's just help ourselves.” He said, giving me a straight face. “I'm not interested.” I said and stood up to walk away from him when he said something. “Have you forgotten she had just 2 months left, if she's not taken seriously?” He said. My jaw dropped and I clenched my fist as I turned back to look at him. I went back to him and sat on the chair in front of him. At that moment, I remembered my parents' business will become mine once I agreed to get married to him. I had to play along with him and make sure that he doesn't know I own that huge investment when I later inherit the companies. CHAPTER FOUR “Two years and nothing else” I said, taking the pen from the table and signing the contract. “No additional years,I don't have anything to do with you after all.” He said, all bossy. “Neither do I.” I said, slamming my fists on the table as I stood up and walked out of the restaurant. I got out of the restaurant and walked down to the bus station that is a four minutes journey from the restaurant. I got there and waited for buses but none was forthcoming. I stood up from the station and started to walk down the road towards my home which is a thirty minutes journey from the station. I was walking home when a car dropped beside me and I heard my name being called. I looked back and saw Lucas and his secretary in the car that hunked to me the other time. “Hop in.” He said, opening the door to the car. “Did I ask for your help?” I responded and kept on walking. I heard the sound of the door being locked and the car zoomed off right before my eyes. “How dare he!” I said holding onto my fist. I walked and I was already tired when I got home. I jumped into my bed in excitement thinking of all that happened at the restaurant. My grandmother will be treated and I'll take over my father's company. That is all that matters to me. I can't wait to bring my grandma to the city and we live together as we've always been. Tomorrow is my day off from work and I'll have to go to the countryside to check on my grandmother. I was still smiling at my thoughts when I slept off. ***************************************************
