Chapter 17
Billy woke up Tuesday morning with a rock in his gut. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't get the image of Dane kissing Laney out of his mind. An internal argument ensued with one part of Billy believing that Laney hadn't wanted to kiss Dane just like her text had said and the other part wondering what game she was playing by coming back to Echo Ridge and having her ex-husband follow her.
He needed time to cool off so he didn't answer any of her calls or texts. He immersed himself in work and when he continued to ignore Laney, she stopped contacting him. He had a headache that pinched behind his eyes and he wasn't sure what to do. So instead of figuring it out, he focused on work. He finished up the platform for the photo backdrop, wondering how he would handle the awkward
