Episode.2
Ryder's eyes narrowed as he approached me, his voice low and menacing. "What are you doing here, Luna?"
I tried to think fast, but my mind went blank. I was caught red-handed, snooping through his files.
"I-I was just looking for a book," I stuttered, trying to sound innocent.
Ryder raised an eyebrow. "A book? In my office? At midnight?"
I knew I was busted. Ryder's eyes seemed to bore into my soul, and I felt a shiver run down my spine.
Suddenly, he reached out and grabbed my wrist, pulling me close. "You're curious about my past, aren't you?" he growled.
I tried to pull away, but he held me tight. "Let me go, Ryder," I demanded.
But he just pulled me closer, his eyes blazing with intensity. "You want to know my secrets, Luna? Well, I'll show you."
And with that, he pulled me into a dark corner of the room, away from prying eyes.
Ryder's grip on my wrist was like a vice, but I didn't struggle. I was too curious about what he was going to reveal.
"You want to know about Ava?" he growled, his eyes flashing with anger.
I nodded, my heart racing with anticipation.
"Ava was my mate," Ryder said, his voice low and husky. "We were supposed to be together forever. But she died, and I was left with nothing."
I felt a pang of sympathy for Ryder, but he didn't seem to notice.
"I made a promise to her," he continued. "A promise to protect our pack at all costs. And that's exactly what I've been doing."
I realized that Ryder's tough exterior was just a facade, a way to hide his pain and vulnerability.
"But why are you so mean to me?" I asked, trying to understand.
Ryder's eyes seemed to cloud over, and he looked away. "You remind me of Ava," he muttered. "And it hurts."
I felt a surge of emotion, and before I knew it, I was reaching out to touch Ryder's face.
Ryder's eyes snapped back to mine, and he froze, his face inches from mine. I could feel his warm breath on my skin, and my heart skipped a beat.
For a moment, we just stared at each other, the tension between us palpable. Then, without warning, Ryder's lips crashed down on mine.
It was a fierce, passionate kiss, and I felt like I was melting into his embrace. I kissed him back, my hands reaching up to tangle in his hair.
But just as suddenly as it had started, Ryder pulled away, his eyes blazing with intensity.
"Don't think this means anything," he growled, his chest heaving with emotion. "I'm still the alpha, and you're still just an omega."
I felt a sting from his words, but I knew I couldn't back down now. I had to see this through, no matter where it led.
"I know," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "But I'm not afraid of you, Ryder."
Ryder's eyes narrowed, and he took a step closer to me. "You should be," he whispered, his voice sending shivers down my spine.
Ryder's eyes seemed to bore into my soul, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. But I stood my ground, refusing to back down.
"You can't scare me, Ryder," I said, my voice firm. "I know you're hurting, and I want to help."
Ryder's expression softened, and for a moment, I saw a glimmer of vulnerability. But then, his mask slipped back into place.
"You can't help me, Luna," he growled. "I'm beyond saving."
I took a step closer to him, my heart pounding in my chest. "I don't believe that," I said. "I think you're worth saving."
Ryder's eyes flashed with anger, but I could see the faintest glimmer of hope. He wanted to believe me, but he was scared.
Suddenly, he turned and walked away, leaving me standing alone in the darkness.
I knew I had to follow him, to make him see that I was serious. But as I turned to leave, I heard a faint whisper in my ear.
"Meet me at the old oak tree at midnight, Luna. Come alone."
