Chapter 24 I got Annette to the nearest hospital. They took her in and whisked her away down a dull green painted corridor. I tried to follow but was held back, they told me she was in good hands now. I was ushered to a waiting area and took a seat on a grey plastic chair. There were two other people in the room and both bore the masks of deep concern. About five minutes later a couple of uniforms appeared and said they wanted to ask me some questions. I said it was not a problem but I was not going to leave the hospital until I was sure she was alright, well as alright as she could possibly be after having gone through what she had suffered.
